What's in the box?

Upon opening the package, you will find the following items:

• Flex Control Panel: A professional video production control surface featuring numerous buttons, encoders, and a display.
• Removable Power Cable: A standard power cable to supply electricity to the unit.
• 6ft Ethernet Cable: A standard network cable for establishing a connection to your network.

Connecting Your Flex Control Panel

Follow these steps to connect your Flex Control Panel to a TriCaster system:

1. Connect the Flex Control Panel to your local network using the rear RJ-45 Ethernet connection. The panel will automatically obtain an IP address via DHCP. A static IP address can be configured later, as detailed in the TriCaster user manual.
2. Connect the AC power adapter to the control panel. Allow approximately 30 seconds for the Flex to complete its boot-up sequence.
3. After bootup, select a target system to control. The target system must be running TriCaster software build 8-0 or later. To access the utility menu on the Flex panel, simultaneously press and release the SHIFT, ALT, and SET buttons.
4. In the utility menu, press the white button located directly above the 'Connect' option.
5. The 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons in the media player section will illuminate green, and the 'Stop' button will flash red. The LCD display will show information about available network devices, such as 'NDI Source' with its IP address (e.g., HYDRA (NDI Surface), 192.168.1.86:5963 132874).
6. Utilize the green 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons in the media player section to cycle through the available TriCaster systems on your network. Once the correct target system is displayed, press the flashing red 'Stop' button to establish the connection. The Flex Control Panel should connect to the selected TriCaster system within a few seconds.

Flex Control Surface Connections Set-Up

The rear panel of the Flex Control Panel provides various connectivity options:

• DISPLAY: A port for connecting an external display.
• USB: Two USB-2 ports are available for connecting peripherals.
• TALKBACK / MIC: Features one pair of 1/4 inch balanced Talkback and Mic inputs.
• PHONES: Includes a 1/4 inch Stereo headphone output.
• AUDIO IN: Provides two pairs of 1/2 inch balanced line level inputs for audio sources.
• AUDIO OUT: Offers two pairs of 1/2 inch balanced line level outputs for audio monitoring.
• ETHERNET: An RJ-45 connector providing 1GbE connectivity for NDI (Network Device Interface) streams.

It is essential to ensure that your TriCaster is running the latest software version. TriCaster software build 8-0 or later is required for the Flex Control Panel to function correctly.
