Brother MFC-B7710DN / DCP-B7500D Quick Setup Guide

Unpack the machine and check the components
Carefully unpack your Brother machine and verify that all components are present. The exact contents may vary by country.
- Drum Unit (A)
- Inbox Toner Cartridge (B)
- AC Power Cord
- Brother Installation Disc
NOTE:
- Component inclusion may differ by country.
- Available connection interfaces vary by model.
- Interface cables are not included; purchase the correct cable if needed.
USB cable: A USB 2.0 cable (Type A/B) no more than 2 metres long is recommended.
Network cable: Use a straight-through Category 5 (or greater) twisted-pair cable.
Illustrations in this guide primarily show the MFC-B7710DN model.

Secure Network Access: The machine's default password is on a label on the back (preceded by "Pwd"). It is strongly recommended to change this password to protect your machine from unauthorized access.
Step 1: Remove the packing materials and install the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly
Open the front cover. Remove the orange protective part from the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Install the assembly into the machine. Push firmly until it is securely in place.

Step 2: Load paper in the paper tray
Open the paper tray. Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size. Load paper, ensuring not to exceed the maximum fill line indicated.

Step 3: Connect the power cord and turn the machine on
Connect the AC power cord to the back of the machine and then to a power outlet. Turn the machine on.

Step 4: Select your country/language (Initial setup only)
After turning the machine on, you may be prompted to set your country or language. If so, follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 5: Select your language (if needed)
If the language selection screen appears:
For DCP models:
- Press the [Menu Button].
- Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] to display [Initial Setup], and then press [OK Button].
- Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] to display [Local Language], and then press [OK Button].
For MFC models: Press the [Menu Button], then 0, 0.
- Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] to select your desired language, and then press [OK Button].
- Press the [Stop/Exit Button].
Step 6: Select a device to connect to your machine
Choose how you want to connect your machine:
Computer: Go to Step 7 and follow the instructions.

Step 7: Connect your computer
Brother regularly updates firmware to add features and apply bug fixes. To check for the latest firmware, visit support.brother.com/up5.
Insert the installation disc into your CD/DVD drive, or download the Full Driver & Software Package from the following websites:
- For Windows®: support.brother.com/windows
- For Mac: support.brother.com/mac
If you are using a recently released operating system on your computer, visit the above websites for updated driver and software information.
Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts.
For Windows®: If the Brother setup screen does not appear automatically, go to Computer (This PC). Double-click the CD/DVD-ROM icon, and then double-click start.exe.

Can't Connect? Check the following:
- Wired network: Ensure the network cable is securely connected.
- USB connection: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected.
If connection issues persist:
- Disconnect the cable.
- Restart your machine and computer, and then try connecting again by going to Step 7.
