2. Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the microphone's features:
- A. MUTE Button: Press to mute the microphone. The button will light up red when muted and turn off when unmuted.
- B. ECHO KNOB: Adjusts the echo effect level for the microphone.
- C. VOLUME KNOB: Adjusts the overall volume level of the microphone. Note: This knob controls the microphone volume, not headphone volume.
- D. HEADPHONE JACK: Connect headphones here for audio monitoring.
3. Operation
Setting Up
- Extend the tripod legs to ensure it stands stably on a flat surface.
- Screw the microphone mount onto the tripod securely.
- Screw the condenser microphone onto the microphone mount until it is locked in place.
- Place the foam cap over the microphone to minimize wind noise and distortion.
Connect to Computer
- Connect the supplied USB cable to the USB port on the bottom of the microphone and the other end to a USB port on your PC or laptop.
- Your computer should automatically recognize the device and install the necessary drivers.
For Windows:
- Navigate to Device Manager > Audio inputs and outputs. The "Bauhn Microphone" should be listed.
For MacOS:
- Open System Preferences and select Sound.
- Choose "Bauhn Microphone" for both input and output tabs.
- Note: A USB hub (not included) may be required if your MacOS device lacks a USB port.
Voice Recorder
To use the voice recorder function, you will need to install appropriate software:
For Windows:
- Download and install the Windows Voice Recorder application from the Microsoft Store.
For MacOS:
- Download and install the Voice Memos application from the Apple App Store.
Troubleshooting
Issue: No volume
- Ensure the microphone is not muted (check the MUTE button light).
- Adjust the VOLUME KNOB to increase the output level.
Issue: Computer cannot detect microphone ❌
- Verify that the USB cable is securely connected to both the microphone and your computer.
- On Windows, open the Control Panel, select "Add a device," and manually search for and install the microphone.
