Getting Started

Printer Dimensions and Weight

The printer has two configuration options with different weights and dimensions:

Configuration 1: 46.3 kg (102 lb), 770 mm (30.3 in) width, 860 mm (33.8 in) depth, 973 mm (38.3 in) height.
Configuration 2: 47.2 kg (104 lb), 770 mm (30.3 in) width, 860 mm (33.8 in) depth, 973 mm (38.3 in) height.

Setup Steps

Follow the numbered steps for proper setup. Diagrams illustrate the process.

Step 3: Details on securing the printer, with close-ups showing attachment points.
Step 4: Instructions for installing a paper tray, with sub-steps 4.1 through 4.6 showing the sequence of actions.
Step 5: Caution regarding paper tray usage: do not extend more than one tray at a time, do not use as a step, keep hands clear when closing, and ensure all trays are closed when moving the printer.
Step 6: Instructions for connecting network and USB cables. CAUTION: Do not connect the USB cable until prompted. NOTE: Cables are not included.
Step 7: Connect the phone cord for fax. An adapter may be required. NOTE: Cables are not included.
Step 8:
- 8.1 Connect the power cable to the printer and a grounded AC outlet.
- 8.2 Turn on the printer and wait for initialization.
- 8.3 Set the language, date/time format, and time zone on the control panel.
CAUTION: Ensure the power source is adequate for the printer's voltage rating (100-127 Vac or 220-240 Vac, 50/60 Hz). Use only the provided power cable.
Step 9: USB connection instructions for Windows and macOS. For Windows, connect the USB cable only when prompted during software installation. For macOS, connect the USB cable now.
Step 10: Locate or download software installation files. Options include HP Easy Start, Product Support website downloads, and IT-managed setup using the HP Smart Universal Print Driver.

Software and Driver Installation
