  • If battery liquid leaks onto skin, wash with soap and water or neutralize with mild acid (lemon juice/vinegar). If it gets into eyes, flush with clean water for 10 minutes and seek medical attention.

Intended Use

This BLACK+DECKER lithium-ion cordless vacuum cleaner is designed for light, dry vacuum cleaning for household use only.

Charging the Battery

For use only with the supplied charger.

Before charging, ensure the dust bowl is empty and dry.

1. Charge the battery for at least 10 hours before first use.
2. Ensure the appliance is switched OFF.
3. Plug the charger's jack plug (5) into the vacuum's charging port (6). (See Fig. B)
4. Plug the charger into a standard 120 Volt 60 Hz electrical outlet.

The charger may become warm during charging; this is normal. The appliance can remain connected to the charger indefinitely.

Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures below 39°F (4°C) or above 104°F (40°C).

Charging Indicator LED

• Red LED on the charger (5) illuminates while charging.
• Red LED turns off when charging is complete.

Switching On (Fig. C)

Press and hold the On/Off button (1) to turn the appliance ON. Releasing the button turns the vacuum OFF.

Dry Pick Up

For everyday spills of dry material. Do not fill the dust bowl (3) beyond the end of the intake chute.

Optimizing Suction Force

To maintain optimal suction force, the filters must be cleaned regularly during use.

Emptying and Cleaning the Product

Removing the Dust Bowl and Filter (Fig. D, E)

The filter is reusable and should be cleaned regularly.

1. Press the bowl release button (2) and pull the dust bowl (3) off the handle. (See Fig. D)
2. Hold the dust bowl over a trash can and pull out the filter (7) to empty contents. (See Fig. E)
3. Insert the cleaned filter (7) back into the dust bowl (3).
4. To replace the dust bowl, push it back onto the handle until it clicks firmly into place.

Never use the appliance without the filters. Optimum dust collection requires a clean filter.

Cleaning the Dust Bowl and Filter

The dust bowl (3) and filter (7) can be washed in warm, soapy water. Ensure the filter and dust bowl are dry before installing.

Replacing the Filters

Filters should be replaced every 6-9 months or when worn/damaged. Replacement filters (cat. no: HNVCF10) are available from BLACK+DECKER dealers. Visit www.blackanddecker.com to find dealers.

Maintenance

Clean the vacuum with mild soap and a damp cloth. Never let liquid enter the vacuum or immerse any part in liquid. Ensure the vacuum is completely dry before use.

Troubleshooting

If the product does not work, check:

• Charger was plugged in correctly and feels slightly warm.
• Charger cord is not damaged and is attached correctly.
• Charger is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

Two-Year Limited Warranty

Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship for two (2) years from the date of purchase for home use. This warranty does not cover failures due to abuse, accidental damage, or unauthorized repairs. Defective products will be replaced or repaired at no charge. For warranty service, return the product to the retailer or send it (prepaid) to an authorized BLACK+DECKER Service Center. Proof of purchase may be required.
