PRESIDENT'S CORNER: Making Repairs

Motorhomes are complex, requiring maintenance and repairs. Owners have choices: dealer, RV service center, or Tiffin Service Center. Tiffin Service Center appointments can be 3-6 months out, with wait times of 3-4 weeks without appointments during busy seasons. A campground with facilities is available for those visiting Red Bay.
Repairs typically best handled at the factory:
- Lamination problems (floors, roofs, sidewalls)
- Frame problems (rarely, if complex)
- Headliner replacements

ANOTHER HOME RUN: Tiffin Scores Again with the 42-foot Phaeton QRH

The popular Phaeton model is now available as a 42-foot version, offering a feature-packed floorplan at a competitive price. The 42 Phaeton QRH utilizes the Spartan Mountain Master GT Chassis, powered by a 350 hp Cummins ISL 8.9 liter diesel engine (1050 lb.-ft. torque). Key features include a relocated 32-inch HDTV, a 4-door refrigerator-freezer repositioned in the driver side slide-out, and increased living space.
The coach is designed for families and guests, offering comfortable seating for eight adults. It features full-body paint, a 10 Kw Quiet Diesel Onan generator, three 15,000 BTU low profile roof A/C systems with heat pumps, and two ducted furnaces (30,000 BTU and 35,000 BTU).
Exterior Features:
The exterior includes a 20-foot Carefree of Colorado patio awning with an automatic wind sensor. An optional 24-inch color television can be extended from the entertainment area, which also offers park telephone hookup, cable, 12v service, and a 110v outlet. Fueling is available from either side of the coach. The rear cap provides access to service points for engine oil, transmission oil, coolant, and chassis hydraulics, including a "filter minder." Behind the second side-opening door is an optional 89" x 38" slide-out tray. Adjacent cargo bays offer substantial storage. The fourth side-opening door houses the computer-electrical panel and HWH hydraulic pump. Battery compartments and electrical panels are located at the rear. The driver's side features fuse panels, compressed air connection, and air release lines.
Interior Features:
The interior is noted for its light and airy feel, with over 89 square feet of glass. It boasts dual pane windows, seven-foot ceilings, and a ducted return air cooling system with five-inch circular air intakes. Lighting is enhanced with 18-inch fluorescents, wall sconces, and recessed lighting. The interior design uses complementary fabrics and patterns. Options include full ceramic tile flooring and carpet in the bedroom. The coach offers two sofa types: an optional Flexsteel Cloth Magic Bed and an optional Cloth Flex Air® Hide-a-Bed, both designed for comfort and durability. The backsplashes are made from solid surface material with decorative designs. The 42 QRH floorplan features a relocated 4-door refrigerator-freezer, creating space for a pantry and housing the 32-inch HDTV. The living area seating is increased when the captain's and passenger's chairs are rotated 180 degrees. An optional leather Euro-Recliner and computer desk are available. The standard Home Theater system enhances entertainment.
The galley includes a stainless steel double sink, single-lever faucet with sprayer, a three-burner gas cooktop, and a microwave-convection oven. Solid surface covers provide additional countertop space. A four-seat dining table and TV trays accommodate dining.

Galley and Dining Area:
The galley offers over 20 square feet of solid surface countertop space, with an Expand-an-Island adding 3.5 square feet. Storage is plentiful with multiple drawers and cabinets. An optional freestanding solid surface dining table extends to 41 inches and offers a panoramic view from a 58-inch wide picture window. A hutch provides additional storage. The dining table can convert to an office space with available outlets. A standard 3-speed exhaust fan is located in the galley area.
Master Bedroom:
The master bedroom is spacious, measuring approximately 11'4" x 11'2" with slides extended. It includes a queen island bed, ample storage, two stereo speakers, and reading lights. Tiffin offers various fabric choices for bedding and valances. An optional Select Comfort bed allows for personalized firmness settings.
Cockpit:
The cockpit features a Spartan instrumentation package and Tiffin controls, designed for safe and comfortable driving. The dash displays include RPM, MPH, fuel, air pressure, and engine temperature. A warning display cluster and an LED display provide comprehensive vehicle information. The Tiffin Control Panel offers access to various functions like leveling jacks, transmission, parking brake, and generator controls. The steering column is adjustable, and the 8-way power driver's seat ensures comfort.
Laundry-Bath Compartment:
This area includes a toilet-lavatory compartment (TLC), an optional washer-dryer combo, and a shower with a second lavatory. The TLC features a solid surface vanity countertop and ample storage. A medicine cabinet with double mirrors is also included. The laundry compartment houses shelving and an optional Splendide 2100 washer-dryer combo.
