Battery and Charger Information
Battery and Charger Compatibility
A comprehensive compatibility chart lists DEWALT battery part numbers (e.g., DC9360, DCB200, DCB120, DC9071) and their corresponding output voltages (e.g., 36V, 20V, 12V, 18V). It cross-references these batteries with various DEWALT chargers (e.g., DCB101, DCB112, DC9310) and indicates compatible chargers with approximate charge times in minutes. Chargers marked with 'X' are not compatible with the listed battery.
Charging Procedure (Fig. 4)
Textual description of Fig. 4: Shows the charging process: 1. Plug charger into an outlet. 2. Insert battery pack (F) into charger; red light blinks (charging). 3. Red light stays solid (charged).
- Plug the charger into an appropriate outlet before inserting the battery pack.
- Insert the battery pack (F) into the charger, ensuring it is fully seated. The red charging light will blink continuously.
- The red light remaining ON continuously indicates the charge is complete. The pack can be used or left in the charger.
Indicator Light Operation
Chargers DCB101, DCB107, DCB112:
- PACK CHARGING: Red light blinking (charging).
- PACK CHARGED: Red light solid ON.
- HOT/COLD DELAY: Red light blinks long, then short (DCB101) or red light blinks continuously with a yellow light illuminated (DCB107, DCB112). Charging is suspended until the battery reaches an optimal temperature.
- PROBLEM PACK OR CHARGER: Red light flashing rapidly. Re-insert battery or try another pack. If problem persists, have charger and pack tested.
- PROBLEM POWER LINE (DCB101): Red light flashes with two fast blinks followed by a pause, indicating power source is out of limits.
Wall Mounting
DCB107, DCB112 chargers can be wall-mounted. Locate within reach of an outlet and mount securely using appropriate screws.
Important Charging Notes
- For best results, charge when air temperature is between 18°C - 24°C (65°F - 75°F). Do NOT charge below +4.5°C (+40°F) or above +40.5°C (+105°F).
- Charger and battery pack may become warm during charging; this is normal.
- If battery pack does not charge properly, check receptacle, ensure receptacle is powered, move to an appropriate temperature location, or take the tool, pack, and charger to a service center.
- Recharge battery pack when it fails to produce sufficient power. Partially used packs can be recharged anytime.
Storage Recommendations
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- For long storage, store a fully charged battery pack in a cool, dry place, out of the charger.
