In order to offer you an optimal learning program, we kindly ask you to determine your current language level with the help of our Online Placement Test. Please choose a quiet place to do the test. If possible, use a headset to better hear the voice recordings. Before you start the test, please read the following instructions. Good luck with your online placement test! Your Berlitz Team For handheld device users (smartphones and tablets): · Supported mobile OS: latest versions of iOS, Android or Windows phone. · Supported mobile browsers: latest versions of Safari, Chrome or Firefox. System Requirements · Sound card, external speakers or a headset. · Any "evergreen" browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox or IE10 and higher). · For optimal viewing experience please set your screen resolution to one of the following options: 1920x1080, 1366x768, 1280x1024, 1280x800, 1024x768, 1440x900, 1600x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 1360x768, 1280x720, 2560x1440 or 1536x864. · Supported OS: Win10, Win8, Win7 or latest MAC OS. Registration Select your language for instructions. The instructions will instantly change to your chosen language. Select your target language for the test (you can choose between German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese) and your preferred learning method. If this is your first time learning this language, select "Yes" in the "Start Level 1?" dropdown to skip the placement test and be placed in level one after completing this form. Select "No" to attempt the placement test. Information Enter your profile information: your email address select the location and Berlitz Language Center to which your test results will be sent. Fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory. Tick the two boxes in order to proceed with the test. Click SUBMIT and start the test. Instructions You'll see some instructions on how the test works and you can test your audio setting to make sure it's working. About the test 68 questions 30-40 minutes to complete-- progress bar at the top of the page Tested skills: vocabulary listening reading grammar The questions are timed--timer at the top right side of the question Adaptive test--it will react to the accuracy of your answers If you're unsure about an answer, you can skip the question by clicking the "I don't know" button. Listening comprehension For listening comprehension questions, the audio extract often applies to 2 or 3 questions. You can play the audio in question 1, but it is disabled in questions 2 and 3. There are clear instructions on this in the question. Please note that the audio will be played only once. Results The results are displayed on the screen. You will also receive an email with an attachment that shows your results, including which questions you answered correctly or incorrectly. A copy of the test results is also sent to the Language Center selected at the registration. You can retry the test if you wish.
