Quick Start Guide
01 / Charge the Battery
Charge the battery using the provided 5V USB Charger.
Charging Status:
- Charging: Solid amber light
- Fully charged: Solid green light
Notes:
- Charge the battery before first use. This typically takes about 5-6 hours.
- For continuous use while charging, consider purchasing an additional battery.
02 / Insert the Battery
Step 1: Use a pin to detach the doorbell from its bracket.
Step 2: Insert the charged battery into the doorbell.
03 / Set Up the Hub and Doorbell
- Download the Tapo app from the [App Store] or [Google Play].
- Follow the instructions within the Tapo app to set up your hub.
- Follow the instructions within the Tapo app to set up your doorbell.
04 / Installation Tips
- Install the doorbell on a flat wall.
- The recommended mounting height is 1.2 meters (4 ft) above the ground for optimal performance.
- Use the included 15° mounting wedge for a more focused view from a specific side.
Mounting Wedge Usage:
The mounting wedge can be used to adjust the viewing angle. It can be installed in its standard orientation or flipped 180° for a different angle.
Tip for Side Walls:
To avoid glare from side walls, especially for night vision, use the mounting wedge to adjust the doorbell's viewing angle away from the wall.
05 / Install the Doorbell
Preview video on the Tapo app to find the desired installation location.
Option 1: Stick to the wall
- Attach the included adhesive to the back of the mounting bracket. Note: The adhesive is for one-time use and should not be reused to ensure proper adhesion.
- Clean the wall surface with a dry cloth. Stick the bracket to the smooth wall and press firmly for 15 seconds to ensure it is securely attached.
- Starting from the bottom, attach the doorbell to the bracket. Ensure the doorbell clicks securely into the buckle at the bottom of the bracket.
This method is suitable for surfaces like tile, glass, marble, metal, stainless steel, and other smooth wall materials.
Option 2: Mount to the wall
- Stick the mounting template to the desired location on the wall.
- Drill two holes according to the template (recommended hole size: 6 mm / 15/64 in.).
- Insert two wall anchors into the drilled holes.
- Use the provided screws to affix the mounting bracket over the anchors.
- Starting from the bottom, attach the doorbell to the bracket. Ensure the doorbell clicks securely into the buckle at the bottom of the bracket.
(Optional) Use 15° Mounting Wedge to Adjust Angle
- Secure the mounting bracket to the 15° wedge.
- Insert two anchors into the wall holes and use screws to affix the wedge and bracket assembly to the wall.
- Starting from the bottom, attach the doorbell to the bracket. Ensure the doorbell clicks securely into the buckle at the bottom of the bracket.
Note: The side of the doorbell with grids should be secured to the bracket. The doorbell can be rotated upside down if needed to find the appropriate angle.

Front View:
- 1 Lens: Captures video feed.
- 2 Motion Sensor: Detects movement.
- 3 Spotlight: Provides illumination.
- 4 Ring Button: For visitors to press.
- 5 Microphone: Captures audio.
- 6 Status LED: Indicates doorbell status.
- 7 Light Sensor: Detects ambient light levels.
- 8 Speaker: For audio output.
Back View:
- 9 SYNC/RESET Button: Press for 1 second to pair with the hub; press and hold for about 5 seconds to reset the doorbell.
- 10 Anti-Theft Button: When enabled in the Tapo app, an alarm triggers if the doorbell is removed. Press and hold for 5 seconds to pause the alarm (it will resume alarming when released). Press and hold buttons 9 and 10 simultaneously for 10 seconds to disable the anti-theft alarm feature.
Hub
- 1 SYNC Button: Press to pair with the doorbell or silence the hub when it rings.
- 2 RESET: Use a pin to press and hold for about 5 seconds until the hub LED blinks red quickly to reset the hub.
- 3 microSD Card Slot: Insert a microSD card for local video recording. Initialize the card within the Tapo app first. (microSD card not included).
- 4 Status LED: Indicates the status of your hub.
Light Indications
Hub Status LED
- Solid red: Starting up
- Blinking red and green: Ready for setup
- Solid amber: Connected to router
- Solid green: Connected to the cloud
- Blinking green slowly: Pairing
- Blinking red quickly: Hub resetting
- Blinking green quickly: Hub updating
Doorbell Status LED
- Solid red: Starting up
- Blinking red and green: Ready for pairing
- Blinking green slowly: Pairing
- Solid amber: Connected to the hub
- Solid green: Connected to the cloud
- Blinking red quickly: Doorbell resetting
- Blinking green quickly: Doorbell updating
- Blinking red once a minute: Low battery
- Blinking red slowly: Offline
How to Detach Doorbell and Remove Battery
Use a pin to detach the doorbell from its bracket. After detaching, firmly pull out the battery.
