Copeland E3-Facility Status Display (FSD) Quick Start Guide

E3-Facility Status Display (FSD) Quick Start Guide

Introduction

The E3-FSD reports alarm information and more, such as temperatures, occupancy, case status, and setpoints. It provides a centralized device for store personnel to review information by communicating with the E3 via Ethernet connectivity (minimum E3 firmware revision 2.26).

The E3-FSD features a touch screen color display for quick navigation, enabling alarms and other relevant store information to be viewed conveniently.

The E3-FSD can be configured to filter out notices and return-to-normal alarms, offering a quick review of advisories and detailed advisory information. It also receives alerts and provides annunciated alarms and alarm information directly to store and department managers. This compact unit can be installed virtually anywhere with a standard Ethernet connection and 24VAC power sources.

Step 1: Mounting

Use the 603-0110 mounting plate kit to mount the E3-FSD flush onto the wall.

The E3-FSD box body is designed for mounting against or inside a wall or panel. When mounted against a surface, the controller will extend 3.75" from the mounting surface. If mounted inside a surface, the door and front section of the back panel will extend 1.55" (plus the plate depth) from the mounting surface.

Standard Mount

The standard mount involves attaching the controller to a wall using the four mounting holes located at the rear of the enclosure. These holes are accessible without removing any internal components.

Recessed/Flush Mount

The recessed mount requires bolting the controller against a surface using 4 of the 14 available mounting holes. The outer 4 holes are used to attach the FSD to the plate. The unit can be mounted with its recessed back portion inside the wall, with the front portion visible through a hole in the wall. For a recessed mount, cut a rectangular hole into the mounting surface measuring 9.0" wide by 10 5/8" high.

  1. Place the mounting plate onto the wall and level it. Measure and mark the center area and the outside mounting hole locations.
  2. Remove the plate and cut the hole using the marked center area.
  3. After cutting the hole, mount the plate to the back of the E3-FSD housing and attach it using the four screws and hardware included in the kit.
  4. Place the FSD and plate together inside the wall cutout. Mount to the wall using the 4 mounting holes in each corner of the plate.

Step 2: Network Setup and Wiring

Connect the Ethernet cable to the ETH port labeled ETH0 NETWORK.

Note: Do not exceed the maximum Ethernet cable length of 328 feet (100 meters).

Note: The E3-FSD comes pre-wired from the factory. No alarm or horn wiring is required.

If needed, additional devices such as an external horn can be connected using the auxiliary relay and 5V output.

Step 3: Power Connection

  1. Feed the 24VAC cable through the bottom opening and connect 24VAC power.
  2. Flip the power switch to ON (up position).

Step 4: Software Setup and Parameter Settings

Once mounted and powered on, log in and follow the steps below. The E3-FSD comes with Feature setup and Setpoint files pre-loaded at the factory.

  1. Login with the default user/password: user/fsdadmin (it is recommended to change your password after initial login).
  2. Set the E3-FSD parameters by opening the main menu on the Home page.
  3. Click the gear icon ⚙️ > General System Properties > System Values tab.

Set Alarm Annunc to ENABLED (default).

Set UnitNumber to the number of your E3-FSD on the network.

Enter a Group Name for the correct peer network name.

Site Name and Unit Name fields are optional settings.

Step 5: Home Page Alarm Example

The Home page displays alarms with status information (click Details for more information or SNOOZE) and a list of all alarms in the system appears under Description with additional alarm information.

Peer to Peer Network Setup

For Peer network and Annunciator setup, refer to Appendix E in the Supervisory Control Platform Controller Installation and Operation Manual P/N 026-1803. [Link to access manual]

Note that multiple Aggregators may be set up, but only one Annunciator and one monitoring master may be set up. Any device can be the Gateway unless in a mixed (Site Supervisor/E3+E2) environment. In mixed environments, an E3 or Site Supervisor must be the Gateway.
