Subject: DS-2 Replaces DS-1A DC-DC Converter
The DS-1A DC-DC converter for the TS-820 series and TS-520/S has been replaced by a new model, the DS-2. The wiring color code is the same. The physical size is smaller. Two additional mounting holes must be drilled in the transceiver rear panel.
Diagram Description: The DS-2 converter is physically smaller than the DS-1A. Two additional 2mm mounting holes need to be drilled into the transceiver's rear panel for installation. The wiring color code remains the same for both DS-1A and DS-2.

Diagram Description: The DS-2 circuit schematic illustrates the use of two 2N4280 transistors (Q1, Q2) along with resistors (R1, R2), capacitors (C1), and a 15A fuse. It details connections for the power connector, DC cable, and heater switch. The unit is packaged with an operating manual, cushion, and protective bags. Installation may require self-tapping screws and a 15A fuse.
