  • Network Cable
  • USB Cable

Available Online

Connections

  1. Connect Network: Connect one end of the supplied network cable (Cat 5 or better) to the iBoot-G2S and the other end to your network. Optionally, connect the second network port to another networked device. Green LEDs on the network connectors indicate a successful connection.
  2. Connect Powered Device: Connect the device you wish to control (turn ON/OFF) to the iBoot-G2S's IEC receptacle (marked A/C Outlet). Use the included IEC-320 to North American (NEMA 5-15) power cord to connect the iBoot's outlet to the device. If the device has a physical power switch, ensure it is turned ON to allow the iBoot-G2S to control its power.

Important: Ensure the combined load of all connected devices does not exceed 12 Amps for 105-125VAC or 10 Amps for 210-240VAC.
  3. Connect Power Mains: Connect the supplied power cord to the AC Input connector on the iBoot-G2S and plug the other end into your AC power source. Ensure the power cord is properly rated and meets local electrical standards if a different plug type is required.

Factory Default Security Credentials

The default password is a combination of "admin" followed by the last three segments of the unit's MAC address. The MAC address is typically found on a sticker on the bottom of the unit. For example, if the MAC address is 00-0d-ad-aa-bb-cc, the password would be adminaabbcc.

Discover and/or Set the IP Address

If your network uses DHCP, the iBoot-G2S will be assigned an IP address automatically. You can find this IP address via your DHCP server/router logs or by using the Dataprobe Device Management Utility (DMU), available for download at dataprobe.com/support-iboot-g2s. The DMU provides more detailed information.

To access the iBoot-G2S setup, open a web browser and navigate to the iBoot's IP address. Enter the Administrator username and password. Upon successful validation, the Control and Status page will be displayed.

To control power, select the checkbox next to the desired outlet (e.g., Main Outlet) and click the corresponding power button (ON/OFF/Cycle Power). The Power Status bar will visually indicate the power cycling process.

Changing the IP Address

You can change the IP address using either the Device Management Utility (DMU) or the web interface.

Using the Device Management Utility (DMU)

  1. Download the DMU from dataprobe.com/support-iboot-g2s.
  2. Open the DMU on a PC connected to the same network as the iBoot.
  3. Select 'Device' > 'Discover' to display the current IP addresses of connected iBoots.
  4. Select the iBoot unit and choose 'Set' > 'Network Settings' to modify the network configuration. Note: IP settings can only be changed within the first two minutes after powering up the iBoot. The DMU functions best when the PC and iBoots are on the same physical subnet.

Using the Web Page Setup

  1. Navigate to the iBoot's IP address in your web browser.
  2. Click on 'Setup', then 'Network'.
  3. Enter the new IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS settings.
  4. Click 'Save'.
  5. To apply the new settings, click the 'Reboot' button or press the reset button located near the power outlet LED.
  6. To lock the settings, set 'IP Mode' to 'Static'. If 'IP Mode' remains 'DHCP', the iBoot will obtain a new IP address from the DHCP server upon finding one.
