Chapter 1 Overview
1.1 Device Description
The HIKMICRO ALPEX digital night vision scope can perform in all ambient light. It features an advanced HD sensor and a high-resolution OLED display, providing full-color clarity in daytime and classic black & white viewing at night. Its traditional-style tube design caters to professional hunters who value tradition and seek technological superiority, ensuring an extreme detection range of up to 600 meters.
1.2 Main Function
- Distance Measurement: The device can detect the distance between the target and the device.
- Zeroing: The reticle assists in aiming at the target quickly and accurately. Refer to the Zeroing section for detailed instructions.
- Client Software Connection: The device can capture snapshots, record videos, and set parameters using the HIKMICRO Sight App after connecting to your phone via hotspot.
1.3 Appearance

Note: In live view mode, press the Capture Key and Switch Key simultaneously to switch the reticle.
Chapter 2 Preparation
2.1 Cable Connection
Connect the device and power adapter with a type-C cable to charge the device.

Note: Charge the device for more than 4 hours before first use.
2.2 Install Battery
2.2.1 Battery Instruction
- External removable battery type: CR123A, size: 16.5 mm × 34 mm, rated voltage and capacity: 3 VDC and 1600 mAh.
- Built-in battery type: 18650 with protection board, size: 23 mm × 67 mm, rated voltage and capacity: 3.6 VDC/3350 mAh (12.18 Wh).
- Install the external battery before the built-in battery runs out to ensure the device can be turned on.
- Do not charge the removable battery included in the package.
2.2.2 Battery Installation
Insert the batteries into the battery compartment.
Steps:

Note: Remove the battery if the device is not used for a long time.
2.3 Install Rail Bracket
Steps:

- Position the device onto the rail bracket and align the screw holes on the rail bracket top with those on the rail bracket bottom. [Diagram: Illustration showing placing the device onto the rail bracket.]

Note:
- The rail bracket design may vary depending on the model. Please refer to the actual product.
- The rail bracket is not included in the package; please purchase it separately.
2.4 Install IR Torch
Steps:

- Turn the IR torch battery cover counterclockwise to remove it. Thread the IR torch through the bracket hoop, then turn the IR torch battery cover clockwise to tighten it. [Diagram: Illustration showing removing the IR torch battery cover, threading the torch, and tightening the cover.]

Note:
- Rotate the lever to adjust the IR torch bracket. Continuous counterclockwise rotation may cause disassembly. Turn the lever clockwise to install it.
- Ensure the anti-slip pattern of the lever faces outward when pressing it.
2.5 Power On/Off
Power On: When the battery is sufficiently charged, hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds to power on the device.
Power Off: When the device is turned on, hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds to power off the device.
Note:
- A power-off countdown will appear when powering off. Press any key to interrupt the countdown and cancel the power-off.
- Automatic low battery power-off cannot be canceled.
Auto Power Off
You can set the auto power off time for your device.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the auto power off time and press the wheel to confirm.
- Hold the wheel to save and exit.
Note:
- The battery status is indicated by the battery icon: a full battery is shown when fully charged, and a low battery is indicated when the battery is low.
- Charge the battery when the low power notification appears.
- The auto power off countdown will restart when the device exits standby mode or is restarted.
2.6 Menu Description
When the device is powered on, hold the wheel to display the menu. In the menu, rotate the wheel to select functions, press the wheel to configure the selected function, and hold the wheel to exit the menu.

2.7 Firmware Status
2.7.1 Client Software Connection
Connect the device to the HIKMICRO Sight App via hotspot to capture pictures, record videos, or configure parameters on your phone.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to display the device menu.
- Press the hotspot icon to enable the hotspot function.
- Turn on your phone's WLAN and connect to the hotspot. The Hotspot Name is 'Wlan-IPTS Serial No.' and the Hotspot Password is the 'Serial No.'.
- Scan the QR code to download and install the App. [QR Code: Android System] [QR Code: iOS System]
- Open the App and connect your phone to the device. You can view the device interface on your phone.
Note:
- The device may not connect to the App if the password is entered incorrectly multiple times. Refer to Restore Device to reset the device and reconnect the App.
- The device must be activated for the first use. The default password should be changed after activation.
2.7.2 Check Firmware Status
Steps:
- Open HIKMICRO Sight and connect your device to the app.

- (Optional) If the firmware is not the latest version, upgrade the device. Refer to Upgrade Device.
2.7.3 Upgrade Device
Upgrade Device via HIKMICRO Sight
Before You Start: Install HIKMICRO Sight on your phone and connect your device to the app.
Steps:
- Tap the device series to enter the device information interface.
- Tap 'Device Upgrade' to access the firmware upgrade interface.

Note: The upgrade process may vary due to app updates. Refer to the current app version for guidance.
Upgrade Device via PC
Before You Start:
- Obtain the upgrade package (including Main Firmware and FPGA Firmware).
- Ensure the hotspot function is disabled.
- Turn on the device after connecting it to your PC and keep it powered on for 10 to 15 seconds before proceeding.
Steps:
- Connect the device to your PC using a cable and then turn on the device.
- Open the detected disk, copy the upgrade file, and paste it to the root directory of the device.
- Hold the power button to reboot the device. The device will upgrade automatically, and the process will be displayed on the main interface.
Note: During the upgrade, ensure the device remains connected to your PC to prevent potential upgrade failures or firmware damage.
- Repeat the above steps to upgrade all firmware packages sequentially.
2.8 Zeroing
Enable the reticle to view the target's position. Functions like freeze and zoom aid in more accurate reticle adjustment. Refer to Zeroing for detailed instructions.

Chapter 3 Image Settings
3.1 Adjust Diopter
Steps:
- Power on the device.
- Open the lens cover.
- Hold the device and ensure the eyepiece covers your eye.
- Adjust the diopter adjustment ring until the OSD text or image is clear. [Diagram: Illustration showing the adjustment of the diopter.]
Note: When adjusting the diopter, avoid touching the lens surface to prevent smearing.
3.2 Adjust Focus
Steps:
- Power on the device.
- Hold the device and ensure the eyepiece covers your eye.

Note: When focusing, avoid touching the lens surface to prevent smearing.
3.3 Adjust Brightness
In menu mode, rotate the wheel to select the brightness option and press the wheel to adjust brightness.
3.4 Adjust Contrast
In menu mode, rotate the wheel to select the contrast option and press the wheel to adjust image contrast.
3.5 Switch Day and Night
In menu mode, rotate the wheel to select the day/night mode option and press the wheel to switch between day and night modes.

3.6 Set Smart IR
Image overexposure can occur in very bright environments. The Smart IR function helps to adjust overexposed images by controlling infrared light intensity, improving image quality in night mode and dark environments. In menu mode, select the Smart IR option and press the wheel to enable this function.
3.7 Set Picture in Picture Mode
Steps:
- In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Select the PIP mode option. The details are displayed in the upper left corner.
- If the reticle is enabled, the PIP view shows the detail of the reticle.
- If the reticle is not enabled, the PIP view shows the detail of the central part.

- Hold the wheel to exit.
Note:
- When the reticle is enabled, the PIP view displays the reticle's detail. When the reticle is not enabled, the PIP view displays the central part's detail.
- If digital zoom is enabled, only the PIP view zooms. If the digital zoom ratio exceeds 4x, the PIP does not zoom.
3.8 Adjust Digital Zoom
In the live view interface, rotate the wheel to adjust the digital zoom of the device.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the zoom mode option, and press the wheel to select a zoom mode.
- Multiple: The digital zoom ratio can be set to 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x.
- Continuous: The digital zoom ratio can be set from 1.0x to 8.0x continuously.
- Hold the wheel to save and exit.
- In the live view interface, rotate the wheel to switch the digital zoom of the device.
Chapter 4 Zeroing
4.1 Select Reticle Group
If multiple users utilize the same device, they can configure and save reticle settings within their respective reticle groups.
Steps:
- In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the reticle group option.
- Press the wheel to switch the reticle group.
- Hold the wheel to save and exit.
Result: The top right of the image displays reticle information. For example, 'A3-100 m' indicates that reticle group A, reticle number 3, is in use, with a set range of 100 m.

Note:
- There are 5 reticle groups available, and each group can accommodate 5 reticles.
- Press the reticle switch icon in the live view mode to cycle through reticles within the selected group.
4.2 Set Reticle
You can select a reticle within the current reticle group and configure parameters such as type, color, and position.
Before You Start: Select a reticle group first.
Steps:
- In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the reticle setting option, and press the wheel to enter the reticle setting interface.
- Press the wheel to select a reticle number. You can select 'OFF' to disable the reticle.
- Set reticle type:
- In the reticle setting interface, rotate the wheel to select 'Type'.

- Set reticle color:
- Rotate the wheel to select 'Color'.
- Press the wheel to switch the reticle color.
- (Optional) Repeat steps 3 to 6 to set colors for other reticles in this group.
Note: When switching reticle numbers, a prompt will appear. Select 'OK' to save the parameters for the current reticle.
- Hold the wheel to exit the interface according to the prompt.
- OK: Save parameters and exit.
- Cancel: Exit without saving parameters.
Note:
- Up to 5 reticles can be configured within a reticle group.
- If the PIP function is enabled, the aimed target can be magnified on the interface.
4.3 Correct Reticle
Correcting the reticle helps in accurately aiming at the target by marking the offset between the large reticle and the small reticle.
Before You Start: Select a reticle group first.
Steps:
- In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the reticle setting option, and press the wheel to enter the reticle setting interface.
- Press the wheel to select the reticle number you wish to correct.
- Set the distance to the target:
- Rotate the wheel to select 'Distance'.
- Press the wheel to select the number you want to change.
- Rotate the wheel to modify the number.
- (Optional) Rotate the wheel to select 'Freeze', and press the wheel to enable the function. [Image: Screenshot showing the PIP effect in Reticle Mode.]
Note: When the freeze function is enabled, you can adjust the cursor position on a frozen image, which helps prevent image flutter.
- Set the reticle position:
- Aim the large reticle at the target.
- (Optional) Rotate the wheel to select 'Zoom', and press the wheel to adjust the zoom ratio.
- Rotate the wheel to select the coordinates, and press the wheel to switch between the X and Y axes.
- Rotate the wheel to move the reticle until it aligns with the target position. The small reticle indicates the initial position of the reticle. [Image: Two screenshots illustrating the reticle correction process.]
- (Optional) Repeat steps 3 to 6 to set the position for other reticles in this group.
Note: When switching reticle numbers, a prompt will appear. Select 'OK' to save the parameters for the current reticle.
- Hold the wheel to exit the interface according to the prompt.
- OK: Save parameters and exit.
- Cancel: Exit without saving parameters.
Chapter 5 Measure Distance
The device can measure the distance between the target and the observation point.
Before You Start: When measuring distance, maintain a steady hand and position to ensure accuracy.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the distance measurement option, and press the wheel to go to the setting interface.
- Set the parameters for the target:
- Rotate the wheel to select the target type from 'Deer', 'Grey Wolf', 'Brown Bear', or 'Custom'.
- Press and rotate the wheel to set the target height.
Note: The available height range is from 0.1 m to 9.0 m.
- Press the wheel to confirm.
- Hold the wheel to save the settings and return to the distance measurement interface.
- Align the center of the top mark with the top edge of the target, and press the wheel to confirm.
- Align the center of the bottom mark with the bottom edge of the target, and press the wheel to confirm.
Result: The top left of the image displays the distance measurement result and the target's height.

Chapter 6 General Settings
6.1 Set OSD
Choose whether to display OSD (On-Screen Display) information on the live view interface.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the OSD setting option, and press the wheel to enter the OSD setting interface.
- Rotate the wheel to select the OSD information you want to display or hide.
- Press the wheel to enable or disable the selected OSD information.
6.2 Set Brand Logo
Add the brand logo to the live view interface.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the brand logo option.
- Press the wheel to enable the Brand Logo.
- Hold the wheel to save the settings and exit.
Result: The brand logo is displayed at the bottom right of the image.

6.3 Capture and Video
6.3.1 Capture Picture
In view mode, press the capture icon to take a picture.
Note: When capturing is successful, the image freezes for 1 second, and a prompt appears on the display. For exporting captured pictures, refer to Export Files.
6.3.2 Set Audio
If the audio function is enabled, sound will be recorded with the video. If there is excessive noise in the video, you can disable this function.
Steps:
- In the main live view, hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the audio setting option.
- Press the wheel to enable or disable this function.
- Hold the wheel to save and exit.
6.3.3 Record Video
Steps:

- Hold the record icon again to stop recording.
What to do next: For exporting recording files, refer to Export Files.
6.3.4 Prerecord Video
After enabling this function and selecting the prerecording time, the device can automatically start recording 7, 10, or 15 seconds before recoil activation and end recording 7, 10, or 15 seconds after recoil activation.
Steps:
- In the main live view, hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the prerecord setting option.
- Press the wheel to switch the prerecording time. Options include 7s, 10s, and 15s.
- Hold the wheel to save and exit.
Note: If recoils occur continuously, the device will record the 7, 10, or 15 seconds before the first recoil and after the last recoil.
What to do next: For exporting recording files, refer to Export Files.
6.4 Export Files
This function is used to export recorded videos and captured pictures.
Before You Start:
- Turn off the hotspot function.
- Connect the device to your PC and keep it powered on for 10 to 15 seconds before proceeding.
Steps:
- Connect the device and PC with a Type-C cable.
Note: Ensure the device is powered on when connecting the cable.
- Open the computer disk and select the device's disk. Navigate to the DCIM folder and find the folder named after the capture year and month (e.g., DCIM → 202206 for June 2022).
- Select and copy the files to your PC.
- Disconnect the device from your PC.
Note:
- The device displays images when connected to a PC, but functions like recording, capturing, and hotspot are disabled.
- When connecting the device to a PC for the first time, the driver program installs automatically.
- Files can also be exported via HIKMICRO Sight. Refer to the app's user manual for detailed instructions.
Chapter 7 System Settings
7.1 Synchronize Time
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the time setting option, and press the wheel to enter the time setting interface.
- Press the wheel to switch the time system, and rotate the wheel to select the time and date to be synchronized.
- Press the wheel to select the hour, minute, second, year, month, or day to be synchronized.
- Rotate the wheel to change the selected hour, minute, second, year, month, or day, and press the wheel again to finish the setting.
- Hold the wheel to save settings and exit.
7.2 Language Settings
Select the device language.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the language setting option, and press the wheel to enter the language configuration interface.
- Rotate the wheel to select the desired language, and press the wheel to confirm.
7.3 Unit Settings
Switch units for distance measurement and reticle functions.
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the unit setting option, and press the wheel to switch the unit.
- Hold the wheel to save settings and exit.
7.4 View Device Information
- Hold the wheel to access the device menu.
- Select the device information option and press the wheel. You can view information such as version and serial number.
7.5 Restore Device
Steps:
- Hold the wheel to access the device menu.
- Rotate the wheel to select the restore option, and press the wheel to restore the device to default settings as prompted.
Chapter 8 Frequently Asked Questions
8.1 Why is the monitor off?
Check if the device battery is depleted. Check the monitor after charging the device for 5 minutes.
8.2 The image is not clear, how to adjust it?
Adjust the diopter adjustment ring until the image is clear. Refer to Adjust Diopter.
8.3 Capturing or recording fails. What's the problem?
Check the following:
- Ensure the device is not connected to a PC, as capturing or recording is disabled in this state.
- Verify that the storage space is not full.
- Check if the device battery is low.
8.4 Why the PC cannot identify the device?
Check the following:
- Ensure the device is connected to the PC using the supplied USB cable.
- If using other USB cables, ensure the cable length does not exceed 1 meter.

9.1 Device Command
Scan the QR code to access device common serial port commands. Note that the command list includes commonly used serial port commands for HIKMICRO thermal cameras.

- Product use must strictly comply with local electrical safety regulations.

Transportation
- Keep the device in its original or similar packaging during transport.
- Retain all wrappers after unpacking for future use. In case of failure, the device must be returned to the factory with the original wrapper. Transportation without the original wrapper may cause damage, for which the company assumes no responsibility.
- Do not drop the product or subject it to physical shock. Keep the device away from magnetic interference.
Power Supply
- Purchase the charger separately. Input voltage should meet the Limited Power Source (5 VDC, 2A) standard as per IEC61010-1. Refer to technical specifications for details.
- Ensure the plug is properly connected to the power socket.
- Do not connect multiple devices to one power adapter to prevent overheating or fire hazards due to overload.
- The power source should meet limited power source or PS2 requirements according to IEC 60950-1 or IEC 62368-1 standards.
- Use a power adapter provided by a qualified manufacturer. Refer to product specifications for detailed power requirements.
Battery
- Improper use or replacement of the battery may result in explosion hazard. Use only the same or equivalent battery type.
- Built-in battery type: 18650 with protection board, size: 23 mm × 67 mm, rated voltage and capacity: 3.6 VDC/3350 mAh (12.18 Wh).
- External removable battery type: CR123A, max. rated voltage and capacity: 3 VDC and 1600 mAh. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Use batteries from qualified manufacturers. Refer to product specifications for detailed battery requirements.
- Ensure the battery temperature is between 0 °C to 45 °C (32 °F to 113 °F) during charging.
- Install the external battery before the built-in battery is depleted, otherwise the device cannot be turned on.
- Confirm no flammable material is within 2 meters of the charger during charging.
- Do not place the battery near heating or fire sources. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children.
Maintenance
- If the product malfunctions, contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Unauthorized repair or maintenance is not covered.
- Wipe the device gently with a clean cloth and a small amount of ethanol if necessary.
- If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the device's protection may be compromised.
- It is recommended to reboot the device every 2 hours during use to ensure optimal performance.
Using Environment
- Ensure the operating environment meets the device's requirements. Operating temperature: -30 °C to 55 °C (-22 °F to 131 °F). Relative humidity: 5% to 95%.
- Do not expose the device to high electromagnetic radiation or dusty environments.
- Do not aim the lens at the sun or any other bright light source.
- Place the device in a dry and well-ventilated environment.
- When using laser equipment, ensure the device lens is not exposed to the laser beam to prevent burnout.
Emergency
- If smoke, odor, or unusual noise is detected from the device, immediately turn off the power, unplug the power cable, and contact the service center.
