Chapter 1 Overview

1.1 Device Description

The HIKMICRO ALPEX digital night vision scope can perform in all ambient light. It features an advanced HD sensor and a high-resolution OLED display, providing full-color clarity in daytime and classic black & white viewing at night. Its traditional-style tube design caters to professional hunters who value tradition and seek technological superiority, ensuring an extreme detection range of up to 600 meters.

The scope consists of the following components:

9 Diopter Adjustment Ring Adjusts the dioptric setting.
10 Eyepiece The piece placed closest to the eye for viewing the target.

Note: In live view mode, press the Capture Key and Switch Key simultaneously to switch the reticle.

Chapter 2 Preparation

2.1 Cable Connection

Connect the device and power adapter with a type-C cable to charge the device.

Note: Charge the device for more than 4 hours before first use.

2.2 Install Battery

Insert the batteries into the battery compartment.

Steps:

Note: Remove the battery if the device is not used for a long time.

2.3 Install Rail Bracket

Steps:

Note:

2.4 Install IR Torch

Steps:

  1. Open the IR torch bracket and place the device into it. [Diagram: Illustration showing opening the IR torch bracket.]
  2. Lock the lever by pressing it to secure the bracket as shown. [Diagram: Illustration showing locking the lever.]
  3. Turn the IR torch battery cover counterclockwise to remove it. Thread the IR torch through the bracket hoop, then turn the IR torch battery cover clockwise to tighten it. [Diagram: Illustration showing removing the IR torch battery cover, threading the torch, and tightening the cover.]

Note:

2.5 Power On/Off

Power On: When the battery is sufficiently charged, hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds to power on the device.

Power Off: When the device is turned on, hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds to power off the device.

Note:

Auto Power Off

You can set the auto power off time for your device.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the auto power off time and press the wheel to confirm.
  3. Hold the wheel to save and exit.

Note:

2.6 Menu Description

When the device is powered on, hold the wheel to display the menu. In the menu, rotate the wheel to select functions, press the wheel to configure the selected function, and hold the wheel to exit the menu.

2.7 Firmware Status

2.7.1 Client Software Connection

Connect the device to the HIKMICRO Sight App via hotspot to capture pictures, record videos, or configure parameters on your phone.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to display the device menu.
  2. Press the hotspot icon to enable the hotspot function.
  3. Turn on your phone's WLAN and connect to the hotspot. The Hotspot Name is 'Wlan-IPTS Serial No.' and the Hotspot Password is the 'Serial No.'.
  4. Scan the QR code to download and install the App. [QR Code: Android System] [QR Code: iOS System]
  5. Open the App and connect your phone to the device. You can view the device interface on your phone.

Note:

2.7.2 Check Firmware Status

Steps:

  1. Open HIKMICRO Sight and connect your device to the app.

  3. (Optional) If the firmware is not the latest version, upgrade the device. Refer to Upgrade Device.

2.7.3 Upgrade Device

Upgrade Device via HIKMICRO Sight

Before You Start: Install HIKMICRO Sight on your phone and connect your device to the app.

Steps:

  1. Tap the device series to enter the device information interface.
  2. Tap 'Device Upgrade' to access the firmware upgrade interface.

Note: The upgrade process may vary due to app updates. Refer to the current app version for guidance.

Upgrade Device via PC

Before You Start:

Steps:

  1. Connect the device to your PC using a cable and then turn on the device.
  2. Open the detected disk, copy the upgrade file, and paste it to the root directory of the device.
  3. Hold the power button to reboot the device. The device will upgrade automatically, and the process will be displayed on the main interface.

Note: During the upgrade, ensure the device remains connected to your PC to prevent potential upgrade failures or firmware damage.

  1. Repeat the above steps to upgrade all firmware packages sequentially.

2.8 Zeroing

Enable the reticle to view the target's position. Functions like freeze and zoom aid in more accurate reticle adjustment. Refer to Zeroing for detailed instructions.

Chapter 3 Image Settings

3.1 Adjust Diopter

Steps:

  1. Power on the device.
  2. Open the lens cover.
  3. Hold the device and ensure the eyepiece covers your eye.
  4. Adjust the diopter adjustment ring until the OSD text or image is clear. [Diagram: Illustration showing the adjustment of the diopter.]

Note: When adjusting the diopter, avoid touching the lens surface to prevent smearing.

3.2 Adjust Focus

Steps:

  1. Power on the device.
  2. Hold the device and ensure the eyepiece covers your eye.

Note: When focusing, avoid touching the lens surface to prevent smearing.

3.3 Adjust Brightness

In menu mode, rotate the wheel to select the brightness option and press the wheel to adjust brightness.

3.4 Adjust Contrast

In menu mode, rotate the wheel to select the contrast option and press the wheel to adjust image contrast.

3.5 Switch Day and Night

In menu mode, rotate the wheel to select the day/night mode option and press the wheel to switch between day and night modes.

3.6 Set Smart IR

Image overexposure can occur in very bright environments. The Smart IR function helps to adjust overexposed images by controlling infrared light intensity, improving image quality in night mode and dark environments. In menu mode, select the Smart IR option and press the wheel to enable this function.

3.7 Set Picture in Picture Mode

Steps:

  1. In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Select the PIP mode option. The details are displayed in the upper left corner.
    • If the reticle is enabled, the PIP view shows the detail of the reticle.
    • If the reticle is not enabled, the PIP view shows the detail of the central part.

  4. Hold the wheel to exit.

3.8 Adjust Digital Zoom

In the live view interface, rotate the wheel to adjust the digital zoom of the device.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the zoom mode option, and press the wheel to select a zoom mode.
    • Multiple: The digital zoom ratio can be set to 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x.
    • Continuous: The digital zoom ratio can be set from 1.0x to 8.0x continuously.
  3. Hold the wheel to save and exit.
  4. In the live view interface, rotate the wheel to switch the digital zoom of the device.

Chapter 4 Zeroing

4.1 Select Reticle Group

If multiple users utilize the same device, they can configure and save reticle settings within their respective reticle groups.

Steps:

  1. In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the reticle group option.
  3. Press the wheel to switch the reticle group.
  4. Hold the wheel to save and exit.

Result: The top right of the image displays reticle information. For example, 'A3-100 m' indicates that reticle group A, reticle number 3, is in use, with a set range of 100 m.

Note:

4.2 Set Reticle

You can select a reticle within the current reticle group and configure parameters such as type, color, and position.

Before You Start: Select a reticle group first.

Steps:

  1. In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the reticle setting option, and press the wheel to enter the reticle setting interface.
  3. Press the wheel to select a reticle number. You can select 'OFF' to disable the reticle.
  4. Set reticle type:
    1. In the reticle setting interface, rotate the wheel to select 'Type'.

  5. Set reticle color:
    1. Rotate the wheel to select 'Color'.
    2. Press the wheel to switch the reticle color.
  6. (Optional) Repeat steps 3 to 6 to set colors for other reticles in this group.

Note: When switching reticle numbers, a prompt will appear. Select 'OK' to save the parameters for the current reticle.

  1. Hold the wheel to exit the interface according to the prompt.
    • OK: Save parameters and exit.
    • Cancel: Exit without saving parameters.

4.3 Correct Reticle

Correcting the reticle helps in accurately aiming at the target by marking the offset between the large reticle and the small reticle.

Before You Start: Select a reticle group first.

Steps:

  1. In view mode, hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the reticle setting option, and press the wheel to enter the reticle setting interface.
  3. Press the wheel to select the reticle number you wish to correct.
  4. Set the distance to the target:
    1. Rotate the wheel to select 'Distance'.
    2. Press the wheel to select the number you want to change.
    3. Rotate the wheel to modify the number.
  5. (Optional) Rotate the wheel to select 'Freeze', and press the wheel to enable the function. [Image: Screenshot showing the PIP effect in Reticle Mode.]

Note: When the freeze function is enabled, you can adjust the cursor position on a frozen image, which helps prevent image flutter.

  1. Set the reticle position:
    1. Aim the large reticle at the target.
    2. (Optional) Rotate the wheel to select 'Zoom', and press the wheel to adjust the zoom ratio.
    3. Rotate the wheel to select the coordinates, and press the wheel to switch between the X and Y axes.

  2. (Optional) Repeat steps 3 to 6 to set the position for other reticles in this group.

Note: When switching reticle numbers, a prompt will appear. Select 'OK' to save the parameters for the current reticle.

  1. Hold the wheel to exit the interface according to the prompt.
    • OK: Save parameters and exit.
    • Cancel: Exit without saving parameters.

Chapter 5 Measure Distance

The device can measure the distance between the target and the observation point.

Before You Start: When measuring distance, maintain a steady hand and position to ensure accuracy.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the distance measurement option, and press the wheel to go to the setting interface.
  3. Set the parameters for the target:
    1. Rotate the wheel to select the target type from 'Deer', 'Grey Wolf', 'Brown Bear', or 'Custom'.
    2. Press and rotate the wheel to set the target height.

Note: The available height range is from 0.1 m to 9.0 m.

  1. Press the wheel to confirm.
  2. Hold the wheel to save the settings and return to the distance measurement interface.
  3. Align the center of the top mark with the top edge of the target, and press the wheel to confirm.
  4. Align the center of the bottom mark with the bottom edge of the target, and press the wheel to confirm.

Result: The top left of the image displays the distance measurement result and the target's height.

Chapter 6 General Settings

6.1 Set OSD

Choose whether to display OSD (On-Screen Display) information on the live view interface.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the OSD setting option, and press the wheel to enter the OSD setting interface.
  3. Rotate the wheel to select the OSD information you want to display or hide.
  4. Press the wheel to enable or disable the selected OSD information.

6.2 Set Brand Logo

Add the brand logo to the live view interface.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the brand logo option.
  3. Press the wheel to enable the Brand Logo.
  4. Hold the wheel to save the settings and exit.

Result: The brand logo is displayed at the bottom right of the image.

6.3 Capture and Video

6.3.1 Capture Picture

In view mode, press the capture icon to take a picture.

Note: When capturing is successful, the image freezes for 1 second, and a prompt appears on the display. For exporting captured pictures, refer to Export Files.

6.3.2 Set Audio

If the audio function is enabled, sound will be recorded with the video. If there is excessive noise in the video, you can disable this function.

Steps:

  1. In the main live view, hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the audio setting option.
  3. Press the wheel to enable or disable this function.
  4. Hold the wheel to save and exit.

6.3.3 Record Video

Steps:

  2. Hold the record icon again to stop recording.

What to do next: For exporting recording files, refer to Export Files.

6.3.4 Prerecord Video

After enabling this function and selecting the prerecording time, the device can automatically start recording 7, 10, or 15 seconds before recoil activation and end recording 7, 10, or 15 seconds after recoil activation.

Steps:

  1. In the main live view, hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the prerecord setting option.
  3. Press the wheel to switch the prerecording time. Options include 7s, 10s, and 15s.
  4. Hold the wheel to save and exit.

Note: If recoils occur continuously, the device will record the 7, 10, or 15 seconds before the first recoil and after the last recoil.

6.4 Export Files

This function is used to export recorded videos and captured pictures.

Before You Start:

Steps:

  1. Connect the device and PC with a Type-C cable.

Note: Ensure the device is powered on when connecting the cable.

  1. Open the computer disk and select the device's disk. Navigate to the DCIM folder and find the folder named after the capture year and month (e.g., DCIM → 202206 for June 2022).
  2. Select and copy the files to your PC.
  3. Disconnect the device from your PC.

Chapter 7 System Settings

7.1 Synchronize Time

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the time setting option, and press the wheel to enter the time setting interface.
  3. Press the wheel to switch the time system, and rotate the wheel to select the time and date to be synchronized.
  4. Press the wheel to select the hour, minute, second, year, month, or day to be synchronized.
  5. Rotate the wheel to change the selected hour, minute, second, year, month, or day, and press the wheel again to finish the setting.
  6. Hold the wheel to save settings and exit.

7.2 Language Settings

Select the device language.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the language setting option, and press the wheel to enter the language configuration interface.
  3. Rotate the wheel to select the desired language, and press the wheel to confirm.

7.3 Unit Settings

Switch units for distance measurement and reticle functions.

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the unit setting option, and press the wheel to switch the unit.
  3. Hold the wheel to save settings and exit.

7.4 View Device Information

  1. Hold the wheel to access the device menu.
  2. Select the device information option and press the wheel. You can view information such as version and serial number.

7.5 Restore Device

Steps:

  1. Hold the wheel to access the device menu.
  2. Rotate the wheel to select the restore option, and press the wheel to restore the device to default settings as prompted.

Chapter 8 Frequently Asked Questions

8.1 Why is the monitor off?

Check if the device battery is depleted. Check the monitor after charging the device for 5 minutes.

8.2 The image is not clear, how to adjust it?

Adjust the diopter adjustment ring until the image is clear. Refer to Adjust Diopter.
