Miele DAH Series Cooker Hood Installation Guide
Introduction
This document provides essential installation instructions for Miele DAH series cooker hoods. Please read all instructions carefully before proceeding with the installation and initial operation.
Supported models include: DAH 1650, DAH 1850, DAH 1950, DAH 2660, DAH 2860, DAH 2960, DAH 2960 EXTA, DAH 4870, DAH 4970, DAH 4980.
Installation Configurations
The cooker hood can be installed in different ventilation configurations:
- AL: Air outlet configuration, typically for internal recirculation or vertical exhaust.
- EXTA: External exhaust configuration, venting air outside the building.
- UL: Another exhaust configuration, as depicted in diagrams.
Diagrams illustrate the airflow paths for these configurations.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Mounting Preparation
Determine the desired mounting location. Mark the positions for wall mounting brackets based on the provided dimensions. Specific dimensions are indicated for various DAH models (e.g., 380 DAH 1x50, 380 DAH 2x60, 371 DAH 4xx0) and the DADC 1000 accessory. Step 2: Wall Mounting
Attach the mounting brackets to the wall. The diagram shows the use of wall plugs and screws. Fasteners specified include 6x 8x50mm screws and 4x 5x60mm T30 screws.
Step 3: Securing Mounting Plate
Secure a mounting plate to the wall using 2x T30 screws. A hole of approximately 15mm diameter is indicated for this step.
Step 4: Opening the Hood
Open the cooker hood by lifting or sliding panels, as indicated by curved arrows.
Step 5: Inserting Components
Insert a filter component (labeled 1) and another part (labeled 2) into the cooker hood assembly.
Step 6: Further Hood Opening
Continue to open the cooker hood to access internal components.
Step 7: Attaching Grille
Attach the main grille to the cooker hood. This step requires 2x T20 screws and is specified for models DAH 2x60, DAH 4x70, and DAH 4980.
Step 8: Mounting Fan Support Plate
Attach a support plate for the fan assembly using 2x T20 screws.
Step 9: Securing Fan Assembly

Step 10: Securing Fan Unit
Fasten the fan unit in place using 4x T20 screws.
Step 11: Inserting Filters/Components
Insert a component (labeled 1) and then a filter (labeled 2) into the cooker hood.
Step 12: Connecting Model-Specific Parts
Connect specific components for different model series, including DAH 1x50, DAH 4x70, DAH 4980, and DAH 2x60, DAH 2960 EXTA. A 'Click' action indicates proper engagement.
Step 13: Securing Internal Parts
Secure internal components using 4x T20 screws.

Step 19: Attaching Upper Grille
Attach an upper grille component, indicated by arrows, for models DAH 2x60, DAH 4x70, and DAH 4980.
Step 20: Securing Flange
Secure a circular flange component to the unit using 4x T20 screws.
Step 21: Connecting Ducting Components
Connect various ducting components for different model series, including DAH 2x60, DAH 2960 EXTA, and DAH 1x50, DAH 4x70, DAH 4980. Arrows show the direction of connection.
Step 22: Mounting Hood to Wall
Mount the cooker hood securely to the wall using the provided brackets and screws. Connect the necessary ducting and electrical wiring.
Step 23: Attaching Front Panel
Attach the front panel or door of the cooker hood. This is secured using 2x T30 screws, with arrows indicating the panel's movement.
Step 24: Final Securing of Unit
Complete the installation by securing the unit to the wall using 2x 5x60mm T30 screws.
