Circ-Logic Recirculation Technology
Rinnai Circ-Logic technology enables users to set recirculation patterns that align with their hot water usage, ensuring hot water is available when needed without continuous circulation. Two modes are available:
Recirculation Modes
- Dedicated Mode: Utilizes a dedicated return line where the integrated pump circulates water from the heater through the return line and back.
- Crossover Mode: For applications without a dedicated return line, ThermaCirc360® technology allows for the installation of a Thermal Bypass Valve (included) at the fixture farthest from the heater. This valve facilitates recirculation.

Water Flow Curve

Recirculation Pipe Lengths
Maximum equivalent recirculation pipe lengths are:
- 400 equivalent feet for 3/4 in. pipe diameter.
- 100 equivalent feet for 1/2 in. pipe diameter.
Note: Equivalent elbow lengths should be considered. For dedicated return lines, total length includes both hot water supply and return lines. For crossover mode, total length includes hot water supply and cold water piping from the heater to the thermal bypass valve.
Certifications and Compliance
The Rinnai RUR series is certified by AHRI, ANSI Z21.10.3, CSA 4.3, and is ENERGY STAR® certified. It also meets requirements for low lead content and is certified to ANSI Z21.10.3 - CSA 4.3 standards. Additional certifications include UL Listed and NSF Certified for sanitation and low lead content.
