SMC KF Series Insert Fittings

Product Overview

The SMC KF Series offers a range of insert fittings designed for efficient and reliable pneumatic connections. These fittings are suitable for use with nylon, soft nylon, and polyurethane tubing, providing a large retaining force and improved workability with low clamping torque.

Insert: Features a large retaining force, with an insert mechanism that provides reliable retention on both the inside and outside of the tube.

Tube Grip: Designed for slip prevention, the tube grip securely retains the tube in position.

Ferrule: The resin ferrule allows for low tightening torque while maintaining a high retaining force. It can handle pressures from vacuum up to 1.0 MPa.

Tube Support: This mechanism prevents tube sliding during installation, offering a secure feel when inserting the tube.

Applicable for nylon, soft nylon, and polyurethane tubing.

KF Series Fitting Types

Male Connector (KFH)

Use to connect tubes in the same direction from female thread. Most general type.

Female Connector (KFF)

Use to pipe from male thread such as pressure gauge.

Straight Union (KFH)

Use to connect tubes in the same direction.

Bulkhead Connector (KFE)

Use to connect male thread and tube through a panel.

Male Elbow (KFL)

Use to pipe at right angles to female thread. Most general type.

Bulkhead Union (KFE)

Use to connect tubes through a panel.

Union Tee (KFT)

Use to connect tubes in both 90° directions.

Male Run Tee (KFY)

Use to branch line in the same direction from female thread and in 90° direction.

Male Branch Tee (KFT)

Use to branch line from female thread in both 90° directions.

Plug (KFP)

Use to plug unused fittings.

Swivel Elbow (KFV)

Use to pipe at right angles to female thread. Swiveled at any direction.

Swivel Extended Elbow (KFW)

Use to pipe at right angles to female thread. Swiveled at any direction. Solid piece moves fittings up from workpiece.

Fitting Markings and Compatibility

Fittings used exclusively with polyurethane tubes (O.D. Ø8, Ø10, Ø12) are marked accordingly. Unmarked fittings are compatible with nylon, soft nylon, and polyurethane tubes. Union nuts and ferrules are also compatible across the range.

Precautions and Piping Instructions

Precautions: Users should refer to safety instructions and common precautions provided in the catalog and series-specific precautions.

Piping:

Cut the tube perpendicularly to the axis using a suitable tube cutter (e.g., SMC TK-1, TK-2, TK-3).
Insert the cut tube until it stops and hand-tighten the nut.
Tighten the nut an additional 1.5 to 2 rotations using a tightening tool.
The axial direction width between the nut and body after tightening is approximately 2 mm.
