IMPORTANT NOTES
- Power Supply: Use only the specified BOSS PSA Series AC adaptor. Using other adaptors may cause damage or electric shock. Turn off power to all units before connecting or disconnecting devices. Avoid using near devices that generate line noise. Ensure your installation voltage matches the unit's requirement. Protect the power cord from damage. Grasp the plug, not the cord, when unplugging. Unplug the unit if unused for extended periods. Refer to "CHANGING THE BATTERY" for battery replacement.
- Placement: Avoid extreme temperatures, dust, humidity, and vibration. Using the unit near power amplifiers may cause hum. Do not expose to heat sources or direct sunlight.
- Maintenance: Clean with a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth. Use mild, non-abrasive detergent for stubborn dirt, then wipe dry. Never use benzene, thinners, alcohol, or solvents.

PANEL DESCRIPTIONS
- TOTAL VOLUME Slider: Adjusts the overall sound volume.
- BEAT LEVEL Slider: Controls the volume of the chime on the first beat (for beats 1-6).
- Rhythm Volume Sliders: Adjust the sound level of respective rhythms.
- HEADPHONES Jack: Connect stereo mini type headphones.
- AC ADAPTOR Jack: Connect the optional BOSS PSA Series AC adaptor.
- Power/Mode Selection Switch: Turns the unit ON/OFF and selects between METRONOME and TAP modes.
- BEAT Button: Selects beats from 0 to 6. Pressing with the DOWN Button outputs 440 Hz.
- DOWN Button: Decreases the tempo. Pressing with the UP Button allows rapid tempo changes. Pressing with the BEAT Button outputs 440 Hz.
- UP Button: Increases the tempo. Pressing with the DOWN Button allows rapid tempo changes.
- START/STOP (TAP) Button: Starts/stops rhythm in METRONOME mode. Taps tempo in TAP mode.
- Tempo Indicators: LEDs indicating the current tempo.
- Display: Shows current tempo, beat, and beat number.
OPERATING THE UNIT
Using the DB-66 as Metronome
- Set the Power/Mode Selection Switch to "METRONOME". Default tempo is 120, beat is 4.
- Set BEAT LEVEL and Rhythm Volume sliders.
- Adjust overall volume with the TOTAL VOLUME Slider.
- Set desired tempo using UP/DOWN Buttons. Hold both buttons for rapid changes.
- Select desired beat using the BEAT Button.
- Press START/STOP to begin or end the rhythm.
- Experiment with Rhythm Volume settings for complex rhythms like syncopation or 16-beat.
Tempo Setting in Real Time (Tap Mode)
- Set the Power/Mode Selection Switch to "TAP". Default tempo is 120, beat is 4.
- Select desired beat using the BEAT Button.
- Tap the TAP Button to the desired tempo. For 0 or 1 beat, tap twice. For 2-6 beats, tap as many times as the selected beat number. Subsequent taps average the tempo.
- Switching to "METRONOME" mode will activate the metronome at the last set tempo.
Standard Pitch 440 Hz (A4) Mode
- Set the Power/Mode Selection Switch to "METRONOME" or "TAP".
- Adjust Rhythm Volume Slider.
- Press the BEAT Button and DOWN Button simultaneously. The display shows "440 A4", and the standard pitch is output.
- Press any button (BEAT, DOWN, or UP) to stop the sound.
Error Indications in Tap Mode
- Tempo faster than 250: Display shows "H-".
- Tempo between 30-34: Display shows "Lo-".
- Tempo slower than 30: The last set tempo is maintained.
- Turning the unit off erases tempo settings.
CHANGING THE BATTERY
Replace battery when speaker output is low or Tempo Indicators dim.
- Press and slide off the battery compartment lid (bottom of unit).
- Remove old battery and disconnect snap cord.
- Connect snap cord to new battery.
- Place new battery in compartment and slide lid back.
MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
- Connect headphones to the HEADPHONES Jack.
- Connect an optional AC Adaptor (PSA Series) to the AC ADAPTOR Jack.

- For rhythms without a BEAT setting, adjust as desired. Accent beats by setting their volume higher.
