OPERATING THE UNIT

Using the DB-66 as Metronome

  1. Set the Power/Mode Selection Switch to "METRONOME". Default tempo is 120, beat is 4.
  2. Set BEAT LEVEL and Rhythm Volume sliders.
  3. Adjust overall volume with the TOTAL VOLUME Slider.
  4. Set desired tempo using UP/DOWN Buttons. Hold both buttons for rapid changes.
  5. Select desired beat using the BEAT Button.
  6. Press START/STOP to begin or end the rhythm.
  7. Experiment with Rhythm Volume settings for complex rhythms like syncopation or 16-beat.

Tempo Setting in Real Time (Tap Mode)

  1. Set the Power/Mode Selection Switch to "TAP". Default tempo is 120, beat is 4.
  2. Select desired beat using the BEAT Button.
  3. Tap the TAP Button to the desired tempo. For 0 or 1 beat, tap twice. For 2-6 beats, tap as many times as the selected beat number. Subsequent taps average the tempo.
  4. Switching to "METRONOME" mode will activate the metronome at the last set tempo.

Standard Pitch 440 Hz (A4) Mode

  1. Set the Power/Mode Selection Switch to "METRONOME" or "TAP".
  2. Adjust Rhythm Volume Slider.
  3. Press the BEAT Button and DOWN Button simultaneously. The display shows "440 A4", and the standard pitch is output.
  4. Press any button (BEAT, DOWN, or UP) to stop the sound.

Error Indications in Tap Mode

CHANGING THE BATTERY

Replace battery when speaker output is low or Tempo Indicators dim.

  1. Press and slide off the battery compartment lid (bottom of unit).
  2. Remove old battery and disconnect snap cord.
  3. Connect snap cord to new battery.
  4. Place new battery in compartment and slide lid back.
