Appliance Installation Dimensions and Clearances
This document provides critical minimum dimensions and clearance specifications for the installation of an appliance. Proper adherence to these guidelines is essential for correct fitting, ventilation, and safe operation.
Installation Opening Requirements (Plan View)
The diagram on the left illustrates the required dimensions for the cutout or opening in the cabinetry where the appliance will be installed. Key measurements are:
- Minimum Opening Width: 560 mm
- Minimum Opening Depth: 500 mm
- Top Clearance (Area 'A'): 100 mm space above the main appliance body.
- Bottom Clearance: 35 mm space below the appliance body.
- Side Clearance: 30 mm space on each side of the opening.
Area 'A' denotes the primary footprint or cavity space required for the appliance.
Appliance and Enclosure Fitment (Perspective View)
The diagram on the right shows the appliance in perspective, indicating the overall dimensions and the required surrounding enclosure. The appliance has a standard height of 600 mm. The enclosure must accommodate this with the following minimum external dimensions:
- Appliance Height: 600 mm
- Minimum Enclosure Width: 560 mm
- Minimum Enclosure Depth: 550 mm
Detail: Required Component Gap
A zoomed view highlights a specific requirement: a minimum gap of 3 mm between certain components. This small clearance is often necessary for ventilation, expansion, or to prevent contact.
