Using Attachments

22 Knife

The knife is the most versatile of all attachments. The processing time determines the final texture. For a coarse texture, use the pulse mode. Use the knife for making pies and dough, chopping raw and cooked meat, slicing vegetables, nuts, pâtés, dressings, puréed soups, and crumbles from biscuits and bread.

Tips

  • Chop meat, bread, vegetables, and similar ingredients into 2 cm cubes before processing.
  • Biscuits should be crumbled and added through the feed tube while the processor is running.
  • Fat for pastry should be cut into 2 cm cubes while cold.
  • Avoid over-processing ingredients.

23 Dough Tool

Used for yeast dough.

  • Place dry ingredients in the bowl and add liquid through the feed tube while the appliance is running. Continue until a smooth, elastic dough ball is formed, which usually takes about 60 seconds.
  • Re-knead by hand only. Re-kneading in the bowl is not recommended as it may lead to unstable processor operation.

24 Twin Whisk

Used for light mixtures such as egg whites, cream, condensed milk, and for whisking eggs and sugar for sponge cakes. Heavier mixtures, such as those based on fat and flour, will damage the attachment.

Using the Whisk

  1. Fit the removable drive shaft and bowl onto the motor unit.
  2. Insert each whisk 3 fully into the drive head.
  3. Fit the whisk assembly by carefully rotating it until it lowers onto the drive shaft.
  4. Add the required ingredients.
  5. Fit the lid, ensuring the end of the shaft is centered over the lid.
  6. Switch on the food processor.

Important Information

  • This whisk is not suitable for processing universal mixes as they are too thick and may damage the attachment. Use the knife for these purposes.

Helpful Tips

  • For optimal results, eggs should be at room temperature.
  • Ensure the bowl and whisks are clean and free from grease before whisking.
  • Heavier ingredients such as flour and dried fruit should be incorporated by hand.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load or processing time indicated in the recommendation chart.
  • 25 Mixing Tool

Use this attachment for mixing light ingredients into thick mixtures, such as meringue, mousses, and fruit purées.

    1. Fit the removable drive shaft and bowl onto the motor unit.
    2. Insert the spatula into the drive head until it is fully seated.
    3. Fit the mixing tool by carefully rotating the drive head until it drops onto the drive.
    4. Add ingredients.
    5. Fit the lid, ensuring the end of the drive is centered over the lid.
    6. Select a low speed (1-2).

    To Remove the Whisk

Remove the whisk from the drive head by pressing the release button 10.

    Tip

    • Do not use Auto mode or high speed, as low speed is required for proper mixing.
    • For best results, do not whip egg whites or cream to a very stiff peak; the mixing tool cannot cope with such thick mixtures.
    • Do not mix ingredients for longer than recommended in the chart, or the mixture may lose its airiness and become slack.
    • Any ingredients remaining on the attachment or bowl sides should be carefully mixed in with a spatula.

    26 Max Volume Disc

When blending liquids, the max volume disc can be used with the knife. It allows for an increase in the volume of liquid processed from 1.4 to 2 litres, preventing spills and improving slicing results.

    1. Fit the removable drive shaft and bowl onto the motor unit.
    2. Fit the knife.
    3. Add the required ingredients.
    4. Place the disc over the knife, ensuring it fits into the grooves inside the bowl 11. Do not press down on the disc.
    5. Fit the bowl lid and switch on the appliance.
