Installation Steps
For Elster® AS3000, AS3500
- Remove meter's communication module plastic case by releasing the top middle screw.
- Snap the modem unit PCB into the plastic housing, sliding it through guiding rails until it clicks. Ensure the PCB is near the screw and the 12-pin connector (3) is correctly oriented towards the SMA antenna connector (6).
- Push the PCB until locked and fixed. A hook in the housing secures the PCB. Force the hook to release the PCB.
- Connect the communication module to the meter by sliding it into the meter housing.
- Connect the communication interface (3) and mains connectors (1) to the meter's connector pairs.
For Elster® AS220, AS230
- Disassemble the meter's communication module plastic case; release the top screw and remove the cover.
- Insert the modem PCB into the transparent plastic housing of the communication modem.
- Mount the SMA-M antenna connector on the housing and fasten with its screw.
- Attach the communication modem to the meter housing. Connect the 12-pin interface (3) and mains connector (1) to the meter.
For Elster® AS1440
- Connect the external PCB adapter with the 12-pin ribbon cable to the modem PCB's 12-pin interface (3). The red wire should be towards the PCB edge. The meter provides communication/power via a 6-pin Elster®-customized interface adapter.
- Remove the meter's terminal cover housing the communication module and release the back cover to place the modem.
- Mount the SMA-M antenna connector on the modem's back cover and fasten with its screw.
- Insert the modem PCB into the terminal cover's housing, sliding it through guiding rails near fastening screws. Position the PCB and power supply module (10) on the right side. The 12-pin connector and wire should be oriented left.
- Push the modem PCB until locked and fixed. Fastening points in the terminal cover hold the PCB.
- Place the external power supply adapter PCB into the terminal cover case, oriented correctly. The 6-pin Microfit connector should be upwards, and the 12-pin wire to the left. Arrange the ribbon cable to avoid obstructing the cover.
- Replace the modem cover, fasten with locking tabs and screw. Insert the modem unit into the electricity meter. The 6-pin connector provides power and data.
Turn On the Device
After assembly, turn on the meter. The modem will start operation, indicated by LED signals. Download and read the full manual from the product website for configuration: https://m2mserver.com/en/product/wm-e3s/
