Safety Instructions

  1. Ensure the power voltage (AC120V or AC220V) matches the gate opener's supply voltage. Children are forbidden from touching control devices or the remote-control unit.
  2. The remote-control unit operates in single button mode. Its indicator light flickers when pressed. The main engine and gate can be unlocked using a disengagement wrench, allowing manual operation after disengagement.
  3. Ensure no one is near the main engine or gate when the switch is operated. Regularly examine the stability of the installation. Temporarily cease use if the main engine requires repair or regulation.
  4. Installation and maintenance must be performed by professionals.

Working Principle

The gate operator consists of a motor, worm gear, and driven gear. The motor drives the worm gear and driven gear, which in turn drives the rack. The motor transfers its motion energy to the socket through the worm and driven gear. Both gears rotate simultaneously when the clutch is engaged, allowing the door to open and close with simple electrical controls. In case of power failure, the clutch can be disengaged by turning the disengagement key approximately 90°, enabling manual gate movement.

Installation Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before use. The SL600ACL sliding gate opener is suitable for gates weighing less than 600kg and with a length less than 8m. It uses a sprocket and chain transmission drive. This gate opener must be installed inside an enclosure or yard for protection.

1. Installation Drawing Overview

The installation typically involves the gate opener, an optional wireless keypad, the gate itself, an optional infrared sensor, an optional alarm lamp, safety stop blocks, the chain, and the remote control.

2. Size of Main Engine

The main engine has a vertical, rectangular body with a sprocket mechanism on the side. Multiple views show the dimensions and mounting points for the unit.

3. Size of Embedded Hole

For both detachable and one-piece mounting bases, specific dimensions for the embedded hole are required. The detachable mounting base typically measures 295mm in length and 110mm in width, with mounting points. The one-piece mounting base measures 240mm in length and 65mm in width, with circular and elongated mounting holes.

4. Installation Procedures

4.1. Preparation Work Before Installation
  • Ensure the sliding gate is correctly installed, the gate rail is horizontal, and the gate can glide back and forth smoothly when moved by hand before installing the gate opener.
  • Cable Installation: Bury the motor and power cable, and the controlling cable, separately using two PVC tubes to protect them from damage and ensure normal operation.
  • Concrete Pedestal: Cast a concrete pedestal with dimensions of 500mm x 350mm and a depth of 200mm in advance to firmly install the SL600ACL gate opener. Verify the distance between the gate and gate opener is suitable before casting the pedestal.
  • Embedded Screws: The mounting base is secured to the concrete pedestal using foundation bolts and embedded screws, with power lines routed underneath.
4.2. Main Engine Installation
  1. Dismantle the plastic housing on the main engine before installation and keep all relevant fasteners secure.
  2. If using the detachable mounting base, assemble the base first. This involves connecting horizontal and vertical mounting plates using flat washers, spring washers, nuts (M6), and inner hexagon screws (M6x20).
  3. Assemble the main engine to the mounting base using nuts (M8), spring washers (φ8), flat washers (φ8), and hexagon screws (M8x35).
  4. Prepare the power line for connecting the mounting plate and main engine. The power supply cable core should have at least 3 conductors, a sectional area of not less than 1.5mm², and the length should be determined by the installation environment.
  5. Unlock the main engine before installation. To unlock, remove the key cover, insert the key, and open the manual release bar by rotating it 90°. The output sprocket should then rotate easily.
4.3. Chain Installation

Close the gate. Connect the tie rod with the chain using a chain link. Fasten the tie rod to the door connecting plate using washers and nuts. If necessary, the chain's elasticity can be adjusted via the tie rod at both ends. The chain can be shortened or lengthened; ensure to use the same type of chain if lengthening.

For a round door frame, use the round screw, flat washer (φ8), spring washer (φ8), Nut M8, Nut M6, spring washer (φ6), and flat washer (φ6) to secure the tie rod to the gate.

For a square door frame, use the square screw, flat washer (φ8), spring washer (φ8), Nut M8, Nut M6, spring washer (φ6), and flat washer (φ6) to secure the tie rod to the gate.

The chain, small sprocket, and big sprocket are installed in alignment. The sprocket cover is then installed over the sprockets. The distance between the main engine and the chain ends should be at least 30cm.

Warnings

  • To ensure safety, install safety stop blocks on both ends of the rails to prevent the gate from moving out of the rail and beyond the safety range. Ensure these blocks are in place and functional before installing the main engine.
  • Verify that the main engine and its components have good mechanical properties, and the gate can operate flexibly when moved by hand before installing the main engine.
  • This product is designed for one control to drive one main engine only; otherwise, the control system may be damaged.
  • An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed where the gate movement can be seen, with a minimum mounting height of 1.5m to prevent accidental touching.
  • After installation, check the mechanical properties, ensure flexible gate movement after manual unlocking, and confirm the infrared sensor (if optional) is installed correctly and effectively.

4.4. Limit Switch Adjustment

Use the manual release key to unlock the gate opener. Manually move the gate to the predetermined open or close position. Fix the magnetic limit switch block at this position and close the clutch. After powering on, perform a test run and slightly adjust the magnetic limit switch block's position until the gate consistently reaches the desired open and close limit locations.

The magnetic limit switch block is installed on the chain, with magnets positioned to trigger the limit switch on the main engine. The distance between the magnet and the main engine's limit switch should be ≤20mm.

Electrical Connection
