Introduction and Usage Tips
A modern Bosch induction cooktop is shown in a kitchen setting, featuring two pans and a cookbook. Above it is a sleek stainless steel range hood.
Cookware Compatibility: Only use cookware that is safe and approved for an induction cooktop. To test, check if a magnet sticks to the pan's bottom. If it does, the cookware is compatible with induction.
Learn More: Watch the video "Getting to Know Your Bosch Induction Cooktop" to learn about safe cookware and testing methods.
Purchasing Cookware: For new induction-safe cookware, visit bosch-home.ca/en/service/cleaners-and-accessories to purchase from the Bosch store or an authorized parts distributor.
Cooking Advice: Always avoid heating stews, soups, sauces, or drinks too quickly. Stirring continuously is recommended to prevent overflow or spatter.
Residual Heat Indicator: Your cooktop features a residual heat indicator that lights up when a cooking zone is turned off but remains hot. Do not touch the cooking zone while the indicator is lit. [? indicator]
Pan Detection: If no pan is on a cooking zone, its display will start to blink as it attempts to detect cookware. Place cookware on the zone within thirty seconds, or it will switch itself off.
Panel Lock: The Panel Lock prevents accidental activation of your cooktop. Press and hold the Clean Lock / Child Lock button for four seconds to turn it on or off. [? lock]
Advanced Features (Model Dependent)
Bosch induction cooktops offer features to maximize performance. Some features may apply only to select models:
- SpeedBoost®: Select this function for heating large amounts of water for faster boiling.
- FlexInduction®: Combines two cooking zones into one large zone, ideal for griddles or large pans. Only the areas covered by cookware are activated.
- PowerMove®: Activates the entire flexible cooking zone into three distinct cooking areas, each with a different power level. Move your pan across these areas to adjust power levels without changing settings. This feature deactivates if more than one item of cookware is detected.
- AutoChef®: Controls pan temperature via a sensor, ensuring the cooktop only heats when necessary, saving energy and preventing overheating.
Cleaning and Care
Always wait until your cooktop has fully cooled before beginning cleaning.
General Cleaning: Wipe away any spatter with a clean, damp cloth. Remove remaining food residue with a glass cooktop scraper, always using a low angle (20-30 degrees) to avoid scratching the appliance. Apply glass cooktop cleaner with a soft cloth and wipe away any excess.
Important: DO NOT use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, harsh cleaners, dirty sponges, or dirty cloths on your induction cooktop. [❌ caution]

Spills: Plastic or foods with high sugar content should be removed immediately if spilled or melted to prevent damage. After the cooktop cools, use a glass cooktop scraper at a low angle (20-30 degrees) to remove residue and buff clean with a soft cloth.
