SWITCH OFF THE DEVICE IN RESTRICTED AREAS
Switch off your device when wireless device use is prohibited or when it may cause interference or a dangerous situation, for example, in aircraft, in hospitals, and near fuels, chemicals, or explosive work areas. Follow all instructions in restricted areas.
TRAFFIC SAFETY
Obey all local laws. Never use your hands for anything other than controlling the vehicle while driving. Prioritize driving safety while driving.
INTERFERENCE
All wireless devices are susceptible to interference, which may affect the operation of the devices.
AUTHORIZED SERVICE
Only an authorized service centre may install or repair the product.
BATTERIES, CHARGERS, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES
Use only batteries, chargers, and other accessories approved by HMD Global Oy for use with this device. Do not connect incompatible products to each other.
KEEP THE DEVICE DRY
If your device is waterproof, check its IP rating in the device's technical specifications for further instructions.
GLASS PARTS
The device and/or its screen is made of glass. Glass can break if the device is dropped on a hard surface or subjected to a strong impact. If the glass breaks, do not touch the glass parts of the device or try to remove the broken glass from the device. Do not use the device until an authorized service centre has replaced the glass.
HEARING PROTECTION
Warning: Using headphones may affect your ability to hear external sounds. Do not use headphones when it may endanger your safety.
Some wireless devices may interfere with some hearing aids.
PROTECT YOUR DEVICE FROM HARMFUL CONTENT
Your device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Follow these precautions:
- Be careful when opening messages. They may contain harmful programs or be otherwise harmful to your device or computer.
- Be careful when accepting connection requests, browsing the internet, or downloading content. Do not accept Bluetooth connections from sources you do not trust.
- Install and use services and software only from sources you trust and that offer adequate protection.
- Install antivirus and other security software on your device and any connected computer. Use only one antivirus software at a time. Using multiple programs may affect the performance and operation of the device and/or computer.
- If you use pre-installed bookmarks and links to third-party websites, take appropriate precautions. HMD Global does not endorse these sites and is not responsible for them.
VEHICLES
Radio signals may affect improperly installed or protected electronic systems in vehicles. For more information, contact the vehicle manufacturer or its equipment supplier. Only an authorized service centre may install the device in a vehicle. Improper installation may be dangerous and may void the warranty. Regularly check that all wireless devices in your vehicle are properly installed and working correctly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place the device or accessories in an area where the airbag could deploy.
EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES
Switch off your device when in an area with an explosive atmosphere, for example, near petrol pumps. Sparks can cause an explosion or fire, which may result in personal injury or even death. Obey restrictions in areas where fuel, chemicals, or flammable materials are handled. Explosive atmospheres are not always clearly marked. They include areas where you are asked to switch off the engine, below decks on boats, and in places where you are transferred or stored chemicals, such as petrol or natural gas. Ask the manufacturers of vehicles that use liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) if this device can be used near their vehicles.
APPROVAL INFORMATION
This wireless device complies with radio wave exposure recommendations.
This wireless device is a radio transmitter and receiver. The product is designed so that it does not exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) set by the independent scientific organization ICNIRP. These recommendations include safety margins to ensure the safety of all people, regardless of age and health status. Exposure recommendations are based on the specific absorption rate (SAR), which indicates the transmission power of radio frequency radiation (RF) directed to the head or body. The ICNIRP SAR limit for wireless devices is 2.0 W/kg, averaged over 10 grams of tissue mass.
SAR tests use the device's normal operating positions and the highest approved transmission power in all frequency bands of the device.
This device complies with radio wave exposure recommendations when the device is held against your head or positioned so that its distance from your body is at least 1.5 centimetres. When the device is carried on your body, it must not contain metal and the device placed in it must meet the above-mentioned distance requirement from the body. Information or messages transmitted require a good quality connection to the network. Data is only transferred when such a connection is available. Follow the distance instructions until the transmission is complete.
During normal use, SAR values are usually significantly lower than the values given above. This is because the device's operating power is automatically reduced to enhance system performance and prevent network interference when the call does not require full power. When the transmission power is lower, the SAR value is also lower.
There may be different versions of device models, which may have different values. Parts and design may be changed over time, and some changes may affect SAR values.
For more information, go to www.sar-tick.com. Note that wireless devices can transmit even when not on a call.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that, based on current scientific knowledge, there is no need to take special precautions when using wireless devices. If you want to limit your exposure, WHO recommends avoiding device use or using a hands-free set and keeping the device away from your head and body. For more information, explanations, and discussions on RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.
See the maximum SAR value for the device at www.hmd.com/sar.

HAC notice
Your phone is compliant with the FCC Hearing Aid Compatibility requirements. The FCC has adopted HAC rules for digital wireless phones. These rules require certain phone to be tested and rated under the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) C63.19-2011 hearing aid compatibility standards. The ANSI standard for hearing aid compatibility contains two types of ratings: M-Ratings: Rating for less radio frequency interference to enable acoustic coupling with hearing aids. T-Ratings: Rating for inductive coupling with hearing aids in telecoil mode. Not all phones have been rated, a phone is considered hearing aid compatible under FCC rules if it is rated M3 or M4 for acoustic coupling and T3 or T4 for inductive coupling. These ratings are given on a scale from one to four, where four is the most compatible. Your phone meets the M4/T3 level rating. However, hearing aid compatibility ratings don't guarantee that interference to your hearing aids won't happen. Results will vary, depending on the level of immunity of your hearing device and the degree of your hearing loss. If your hearing device happens to be vulnerable to interference, you may not be able to use a rated phone successfully. Trying out the phone with your hearing device is the best way to evaluate it for your personal needs. This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wireless technologies that it uses. However, there may be some newer wireless technologies used in this phone that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids. It is important to try the different features of this phone thoroughly and in different locations, using your hearing aid or cochlear implant, to determine if you hear any interfering noise. Consult your service provider or the manufacturer of this phone for information on hearing aid compatibility. If you have questions about return or exchange policies, consult your service provider or phone retailer. Hearing devices may also be rated. Your hearing device manufacturer or hearing health professional may help you find this rating. For more information about FCC Hearing Aid Compatibility, please go to http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/dro.
