Introduction
Welcome to the POWER-Z KT001 USB Power Meter, a device designed and provided by ChargerLAB. This user manual guides you through the features and operation of the KT001. The POWER-Z KT001 is also known by other model names such as Kotomi Premium, CT-2, and UT100, all sharing the same functionality, manual, PC software, and firmware.
Important Warnings
Users must adhere to critical safety warnings to prevent device damage. These include avoiding the insertion of devices with operating voltages below triggered high voltages, not plugging devices into other ports while monitoring voltage/current, and ensuring the PD tester switch is returned to the OFF position after use. ChargerLAB is not responsible for damage resulting from faulty operation.
Device Overview & Home Screen
The POWER-Z KT001 features USB-C IN/OUT ports, a PC connection, and control buttons. The home screen displays key metrics across five divided pages, showing voltage, current, energy, capacity, time, environment temperature, and detected protocols (like PD and QC).
Menu System
Access the main menu by long-pressing the middle key. Options include:
- Switch Group: Manage data across 5 groups.
- Clear This Group / Clear All Groups: Reset recorded data.
- Time Settings: Configure the device clock.
- Record Threshold: Set current levels for data accumulation.
- Idle Clock Settings: Configure power-saving idle clock mode.
- Screen Settings: Adjust screen brightness and idle behavior.
- Personalized: Customize theme colors and UI elements.
- Language: Select the display language.
- Restore Settings: Reset to default configurations.
- System Info: View software version and vendor details.
Fast Charge Triggering
The device supports triggering various fast-charging protocols including QC2.0, QC3.0, Apple 2.4A, PD (Power Delivery 2.0/3.0), Huawei FCP/SCP, Samsung AFC, and VOOC/DASH. Users can select and apply specific voltages or protocols via the menu. A left click on the home screen enters the fast-charge trigger mode.
Cable Testing
Measure USB cable resistance using normal, 4-line, bypass, or bypass load-free modes. The bypass load-free mode utilizes the integrated dummy load for Type-C to Type-C cable resistance testing.
PC Application & Advanced Features
Connect the POWER-Z KT001 to a PC via USB to install drivers, read offline records, perform online recording, take screenshots, update firmware, and customize logos or themes. The PD Listener feature allows analysis of communication messages on the CC line between devices.
Additional Features
The device also includes an E-mark Info Reader for analyzing USB-C cable E-marker chips, diagram painting for visualizing voltage/current data, and an idle clock function for power-saving display.
