Understanding Your Results
The Accu-Chek Instant meter displays your blood glucose result and indicates if it is above, within, or below your target range using a color-coded indicator:
- Blue: Test result is above the target range.
- Green: Test result is within the target range.
- Red: Test result is below the target range.
The target range can be personalized. The meter displays the result in mmol/L.
Using the Accu-Chek FastClix Finger Pricker
WARNING: The Accu-Chek FastClix is for individual use only and must not be shared due to the risk of cross-infection. Do not insert a lancet drum and press the release button simultaneously. Avoid inserting a lancet drum with the release button resting on a surface to prevent accidental pricks.
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before obtaining blood.
- Remove the cap from the finger pricker by pulling it straight off.
- Insert a new lancet drum, white end first, into the finger pricker until it clicks firmly into place.
- Replace the cap.
- Rotate the cap to select the desired penetration depth. Start with 2 or 3. For tougher skin, dial to a higher number (up to 5).
- Press the finger pricker firmly against the selected puncture site and press the release button fully. The lancet will penetrate the skin.
Test your blood sugar immediately after obtaining blood.
Four Steps to Measure Your Blood Sugar
- Wash and dry your hands. Insert the test strip (metallic end first) into the meter. The meter turns on automatically.
- When a flashing drop symbol appears on the meter display, perform a finger prick using the Accu-Chek FastClix finger pricker.
- Touch the yellow edge of the test strip to the blood drop. Remove your finger from the test strip when the flashing hourglass symbol appears.
- The test result appears in less than 4 seconds. An arrow indicates if the result is above, within, or below your target range.
