Cardo Freecom X Installation Guide
Welcome to the Cardo Freecom X installation guide. This document provides step-by-step instructions for mounting your new communication system onto your helmet.
Before You Begin
Ensure you have all the necessary components. The Freecom X system is designed for easy installation on most helmets.

- A: Velcro x2
- B: Booster Pads x2
- C: Microphone Sponge x2
- D: Mounting Bracket
- E: Speakers (L/R)
- F: Microphone
- G: USB Cable
- H: Alcohol Pad
Installation Options
The Freecom X can be installed on helmets with narrow rims (less than 5mm) or wide rims (greater than 5mm).
Option 1: Installation on Narrow Rim Helmet
This option is suitable for helmets with a narrow rim.
Option 2: Installation on Wide Rim Helmet
This option is suitable for helmets with a wider rim.
Step-by-Step Installation

Prepare the Helmet
Remove Padding: Carefully remove the helmet's internal padding to access the mounting area.
Clean the Surface: Use the provided alcohol pad (H) to clean the area where the mounting bracket will be attached. Allow it to dry completely.

Mount the Bracket
For Narrow Rims: Insert the push clamp into place on the helmet rim.
For Wide Rims: Use the alternative mounting method as shown in the diagrams.
Ensure the bracket is securely attached.

Install the Speakers
Identify Left (L) and Right (R) Speakers: The left speaker typically has a shorter cord.
Position Speakers: Place the speakers inside the helmet, aligning them with your ears. If needed, use the booster pads (B) to bring the speakers closer to your ears for optimal sound quality.
Connect Speakers: Plug the speaker cords into the main unit.

Install the Microphone
Boom Microphone: Position the boom microphone so that the arrow faces your mouth. Attach it to the mounting bracket using the provided Velcro.
Corded Microphone: Place the corded microphone inside the helmet, near your mouth, and secure it with Velcro.

Attach the Main Unit
Slide the main Freecom X unit onto the mounted bracket until it clicks into place. You should hear a distinct 'click' sound, confirming it's securely attached.

Final Checks
Return Padding: Reinstall the helmet's internal padding.
Test Functionality: Ensure all components are working correctly. Refer to the user manual for detailed operational instructions.
