Monitor Placement

Proper placement is crucial for optimal performance. Follow these guidelines:

Studio/Stereo Application

Place monitors within the front 1/3 of the room, approximately 3 to 5 feet apart, angled at 60 degrees towards your listening position. Position the ribbon tweeters at approximately ear height when seated. For optimized performance, angle the monitors to aim directly at your ears. Avoid placing large objects near the monitors and listening position to reduce distortion from reflection and diffraction.

Surround Sound Application

Begin by placing the center channel monitor directly in front of your listening position. Position the front left and right monitors at an equal distance, angled 25 to 30 degrees from the center, forming a slight arc. Place rear monitors at an equal distance from the listening position, angled 90 to 110 degrees from the center.

Connecting Your SM6BT Monitor

The SM6BT offers multiple connection options for various audio sources:

Unbalanced RCA Input

A common input for home audio setups, suitable for driving signals from AV equipment. Use high-quality, short cables to minimize noise and interference.

Balanced XLR & TRS Input

Widely used in professional audio, these balanced connections carry signals over longer cable runs, reducing susceptibility to electromagnetic interference (EMI). The combo jack provides a true balanced input with conductors isolated relative to ground.

Bluetooth® Pairing & Connecting

True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Pairing: Press and hold the TWS button on both master and slave monitors for over 2 seconds. A "TWS PAIRING" prompt tone will be heard. The monitors will pair, and the master (left channel) will have its rear amp LED ON, while the slave (right channel) will have its rear amp LED OFF.

Mobile Devices Connection: Press and hold the PAIRING button on the master monitor for over 2 seconds (LED will flash rapidly). Find "SM6BT" in your mobile device's Bluetooth® list. Upon successful connection, the LED will stop blinking, and a "successful pairing" tone will be heard.
