Hardware Basics

The keyboard features the following:

• USB Ports: Two USB 2.0 ports located on the back of the keyboard, allowing it to act as a hub.
• USB Plug: The cable connector for your computer.
• Power LED: An indicator light showing the keyboard is powered on.
• Caps Lock LED: An indicator light that illuminates when Caps Lock is active.
• Fn Lock LED: An indicator light that illuminates when Fn Lock is active, typically used for switching between shortcut and function key modes.

How to Use the Macally Keyboard

Initial Setup: The first time you connect the keyboard to your Apple computer, the "Keyboard Setup Assistant" window will open. Follow the on-screen instructions to identify and configure the keyboard correctly.

Troubleshooting: If you experience typing issues after initial setup, unplug the keyboard, then plug it back in. Navigate to the Apple Menu , open "System Preferences...", click on "Keyboard", and then select "Change Keyboard Type..." to re-run the "Keyboard Setup Assistant" and re-identify the keyboard.

Keyboard Modes

The top row of keys on this keyboard can function as either shortcut keys (icons) for specific tasks or as standard function keys (F1-F16).

Shortcut Key Mode (Default)

This is the keyboard's standard mode. The following are the tasks assigned to each shortcut key:

Note: These shortcuts may not be universal and might behave differently across applications. Test them in your specific app or check its menu for details.

Standard Function Key Mode

Press the "Fn" and "Esc" keys simultaneously to switch to the standard F1-F16 function key mode. The Fn Lock LED will turn on. To return to shortcut key mode, press "Fn" and "Esc" simultaneously; the Fn Lock LED will turn off. The top row keys will automatically revert to shortcut key mode upon computer startup/restart or when the keyboard is unplugged.

Secondary Function Execution

To perform a secondary function without switching modes, press the "Fn" key simultaneously with one of the top row keys. For example, in shortcut mode, pressing F11 increases volume. However, pressing "Fn" + "F11" simultaneously activates "Show Desktop" in Mission Control.

Warranty

Macally Peripherals warrants this product to be free from defects in title, materials, and workmanship for one year in North America and two (2) years in Europe, Middle East, and Africa from the date of purchase. If the product is found to be defective, Macally will repair or replace it as the sole remedy and obligation. This warranty is exclusive to the WKEYHUBMB and does not cover abuse, misuse, abnormal electrical or environmental conditions, or normal wear and tear. Macally's liability is limited to the purchase price refund. It does not cover costs of substitute products/services, lost profits, or consequential, incidental, direct, or indirect damages.

Environmental Information for Customers in the European Union ??

European Directive 2002/96/EC requires that this product, and its packaging, not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste. The symbol indicates separate disposal is required.
