Operating Instructions
ON/OFF Button
Short press the ON/OFF button to turn the device on or off.
HOLD/Tilt% Button
To hold data: Short press the HOLD/Tilt% button. The display will show "LEVEL HOLD" and freeze the current reading.
To display tilt percentage: Long press the HOLD/Tilt% button for 2 seconds. The display will change to show the tilt angle as a percentage.
ZERO Button and Measuring Modes
Initial State: When turned on, the measurement initially displays 0.00°.
Tilt Direction Indicators:
- If the display shows "▲" on the left side and "▼" on the right side, it indicates the left side is higher and the right side is lower.
- If the display shows "▼" on the left side and "▲" on the right side, it indicates the left side is lower and the right side is higher.
Absolute Measuring Mode
Turn on the instrument and measure. The read-out displays the relative angle to the absolute level. The absolute zero position is factory-calibrated.
Diagram Description: The device is shown measuring an angle relative to a horizontal reference line. Arrows indicate whether the measured surface is higher or lower than the reference.
Relative Measuring Mode
This mode allows setting zero at any slope as a reference surface to measure the relative angle based on that slope.
- When the instrument turns on, place it onto the measuring surface. The display shows the angle compared to the absolute level.
- Short press the ZERO button. The display will show "0.00°". This sets the current surface as the zero reference.
- Place the instrument on the surface that needs to be measured, or change the angle on the reference surface. The readout will display the angle value relative to the reference surface (e.g., 25°).
Diagram Description: Sequence showing the device placed on a surface, then zeroed, and then placed on a second surface to measure the angle between the two surfaces.
Recalibration
Recalibration is recommended if the instrument becomes inaccurate.
- Place the bottom surface of the instrument onto a calibrated level surface.
- With the device powered off, hold the instrument, press and hold the "ZERO" button, then press the "ON/OFF" button. The LCD will display "CAL1", indicating the start of the calibration process.
- Hold the instrument still and press the ZERO button. The LCD displays "CAL2".
- Rotate the instrument 90 degrees clockwise, hold it still, and press the ZERO button again. The LCD displays "CAL3".
- Rotate the instrument 90 degrees clockwise, hold it still, and press the ZERO button again. The LCD displays "CAL4".
- Rotate the instrument 90 degrees clockwise, hold it still, and press the ZERO button again. The LCD displays "CAL5".
- Rotate the instrument 90 degrees clockwise, hold it still, and press the ZERO button again. The LCD displays "PASS", followed by "0.00°", indicating successful calibration.
Important Notes for Calibration:
- Ensure the instrument remains still when pressing the "ZERO" button during each calibration step.
- The inclinometer is fully calibrated prior to shipment from the factory. Recalibrate only when the instrument is inaccurate.
Application
The AUTOUTLET Digital Inclinometer is widely applied in various industries:
- Wood Processing Industry: Especially in furniture manufacturing, for accurate cutting of wood angles.
- Auto Repair Industry: For accurate control of tire angles and other vehicle alignments.
- Machining Industry: For precise positioning of tool working angles and measuring rotation angles of large vehicle arms.
