Whirlpool Top Loading Washing Machine Quick Start Guide
Operating Instructions
⚠️ WARNING
Fire Hazard
Never place items in the washer that are dampened with gasoline or other flammable fluids. No washer can completely remove oil. Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it (including cooking oils). Doing so can result in death, explosion, or fire.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS, located in your appliance's Owner's Manual, before operating this appliance.

Adding Laundry Products
Important: Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergents. Non-HE detergents may cause longer cycle times, reduced rinsing, and potential component malfunction or mold buildup.
Adding HE Detergent to Basket:
Add measured HE detergent or single-dose packets directly into the basket. Boosters, color-safe bleach, or crystals can be added to the bottom of the basket before clothes.
Adding Liquid Chlorine Bleach:
Do not overfill. Dilute or use no more than 1 cup (236 mL). Do not mix with color-safe bleach or oxi products in the same cycle.
Adding Liquid Fabric Softener to Dispenser:
Pour measured liquid fabric softener into the dispenser. Dilute by filling the dispenser with warm water to the Max Fill line. Ensure the 'Fabric Softener' option is selected for proper distribution.
Choosing the Right Cycle
A comprehensive cycle guide is available online at www.whirlpool.com. It helps identify the best cycle for various load types. For example, the NORMAL cycle with Warm water is recommended for cottons, linens, and mixed loads.
Water Usage and Options
More Water When You Want It (Auto Sensing & Deep Water):
The washer automatically adjusts water levels. Press 'Deep Water' to add more water. The BULKY ITEMS cycle with Deep Water is recommended for maximum water levels. Note that Deep Water may increase cycle times.
Cleaning with Less Water:
The washer is designed for efficient cleaning with less water. Load items loosely; they will settle during the wash. It is normal for some items to be above the water line; you will not see a full basket of water like older machines.
Pre-treating Before a Wash Cycle:
Use the [Faucet Button] for an instant water stream to pre-treat items directly in the washer. The faucet automatically shuts off after 10 minutes or when the maximum water level is reached. Water will drain if the level becomes too high or if the lid is left open/closed for extended periods.
