Please refer to the latest version of the documentation, which is ready for download under www.thomann.de. 1.1 Symbols and signal words In this section you will find an overview of the meaning of symbols and signal words that are used in this document. BLS-2700 Stand 5 General information Signal word DANGER! CAUTION! NOTICE! Warning signs Meaning This combination of symbol and signal word indicates an immediate dangerous situation that will result in death or serious injury if it is not avoided. Type of danger Warning danger zone. 6 BLS-2700 Stand Safety instructions 2 Safety instructions Intended use This speaker / light stand is used for stable fixing and height-adjustable installation of loud- speaker cabinets and lights. Use the product only as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damages resulting from improper use. This product may be used only by persons with sufficient physical, sensorial, and intellectual abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this product only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety. BLS-2700 Stand 7 Safety instructions Safety DANGER! Risk of injury and choking hazard for children! Children can suffocate on packaging material and small parts. Children can injure themselves when handling the product. Never allow children to play with the packaging material and the product. Always store packaging material out of the reach of babies and small children. Always dispose of packaging material properly when it is not in use. Never allow children to use the product without supervision. Keep small parts away from children and make sure that the product does not shed any small parts that children could play with. CAUTION! Risk of injury due to tipping of the stand during loaded transport! If the stand is moved without having removed the installed devices, the stand may tip over and cause injuries and property damage. Remove the installed devices before transporting the stand. CAUTION! Risk of injury due to tipping of stand on an unsuitable ground! When the stand is installed on soft or uneven ground, the stand may tip over and cause injuries and property damage. Install the stand only on even and solid ground. CAUTION! Risk of injury due to tipping of the stand from excessive loading! In case of excessive loading, the stand might tip over, causing injury and property damage. Never exceed the specified maximum load for the stand. 8 BLS-2700 Stand 3 Features Special features of the speaker/lighting stand: n Can be extended up to a height of 3.10 m n Centric load up to 50 kg (110 lbs) n Extension tube made of hardened steel n Legs and cross braces made of aluminium n M10 female thread on 35-mm flange n Transport length when folded: 1.68 m Features BLS-2700 Stand 9 Operation 4 Operation Unpack and check carefully there is no transportation damage before using the product. Keep the equipment packaging. To fully protect the product against vibration, dust and moisture during transportation or storage use the original packaging or your own packaging material suitable for transport or storage, respectively. CAUTION! Risk of injury due to tipping of the stand during loaded transport! If the stand is moved without having removed the installed devices, the stand may tip over and cause injuries and property damage. Remove the installed devices before transporting the stand. CAUTION! In case of excessive loading, the stand might tip over, causing injury and property damage. Never exceed the specified maximum load for the stand. NOTICE! Possible staining due to plasticiser in rubber feet! The plasticiser contained in the rubber feet of this product may react with the coating of the floor and cause permanent dark stains after some time. If necessary, use a suitable mat or felt slide to prevent direct contact between the product's rubber feet and the floor. Comply with regulations When installing and operating, make sure to follow the standards and regulations that apply in your country. BLS-2700 Stand 11 Operation Setup 1. Unfold the feet of the stand until the cross braces are in a horizontal position. 2. Secure this position with the safety screw on the carriage to which the three feet are attached. 3. Lift the speaker box / spotlight onto the extension tube. The weight of the loudspeaker cabinet / lights to be installed must not exceed the maximum centric load of 50 kg. 4. Fold out the hand crank. 5. To adjust the height, loosen the safety screw on the crank case. 6. Press and hold the yellow security button on the crank case while setting the required height with the hand crank. 7. Release the yellow security button on the crank case, fix the position of the telescopic rod with the safety screw on the crank case and fold the hand crank back in. 12 BLS-2700 Stand Disassembly Operation 1. Fold out the hand crank. 2. Loosen the safety screw on the crank case. 3. Press and hold the yellow safety button on the crank case while completely lowering the telescopic rod. 4. Release the yellow security button on the crank case, fix the position of the telescopic rod with the safety screw on the crank case and fold the hand crank back in. 5. Lift off the speaker or spotlight from the telescopic rod. 6. Loosen the safety screw on the carriage to which the three feet are attached. 7. Fold up the feet of the stand.
