Installation Guide
Proper installation is crucial for performance and safety. Consult a professional if you are unsure.
Connections:
- Power (B+): Connect to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle battery using a suitable gauge wire and an inline fuse holder (recommended 30A).
- Ground (GND): Connect to a clean, unpainted metal surface on the vehicle chassis using a short, heavy gauge wire.
- Remote (REM): Connect to the head unit's remote turn-on output. This powers the amplifier on/off with the head unit.
- Speaker Output (+/-): Connect to your subwoofer's positive (+) and negative (-) terminals. Ensure correct polarity.
Filter Settings:
LPF (Low-Pass Filter): Adjust to set the upper limit of frequencies sent to the subwoofer. Typically set between 60Hz and 100Hz for subwoofers.
SS (Subsonic Filter): Use to eliminate very low frequencies that can cause distortion and damage to the subwoofer. Set slightly below the desired bass response, e.g., 25Hz-35Hz.
Bass Boost: Use sparingly to add emphasis to low frequencies. Excessive boost can lead to distortion.
Safety Precautions
- ⚠️ Ensure all connections are secure and correct before powering on.
- ⚠️ Do not operate the amplifier if any wires are damaged or connections are loose.
- ⚠️ Protect the amplifier from moisture and extreme temperatures.
- ⚠️ Never bypass the fuse.
- ⚙️ Internal protection circuits will shut down the amplifier if it overheats or if there is a short circuit. Allow it to cool down before restarting.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound: Check power, ground, and remote connections. Ensure head unit is on and volume is up. Verify fuse integrity.
- Distortion: Reduce gain or bass boost. Check speaker impedance compatibility.
- Amplifier Shuts Off: Overheating (ensure ventilation) or overload (check speaker impedance).
