Appearance
The Tapo C110 features a system LED that indicates status, an alert light, lens, microphone, DC power port, RESET button, and a microSD card slot.
- Lens: The primary camera lens.
- Microphone: Built-in internal microphone. Do not insert objects into the hole.
- Alert Light: Blinks to alert when activity is detected.
- DC Power Port: Connect the provided power cord here.
- RESET Button: Press and hold for at least 5 seconds until the LED blinks red to reset the camera.
- microSD Card Slot: Insert a microSD card for local recording and initialize it via the app.
System LED Statuses
- Solid red: Starting up.
- Blinking red and green: Ready for setup.
- Blinking red slowly: Connecting to Wi-Fi.
- Solid amber: Connected to Wi-Fi.
- Solid green: Connected to TP-Link Cloud server.

Set Up Your Camera
Follow these steps to set up your new camera:
Step 1. Download App
Download the Tapo app from the [Apple App Store] or [Google Play], or scan the provided [QR Code].
Step 2. Log In
Open the Tapo app and log in with your TP-Link ID. Create an account if you don't have one.
Step 3. Add Your Camera
Tap the [+] button in the app and select your camera model.
Step 4. Configure Camera
Follow the app instructions to configure your camera and connect it to your home network.
Step 5. Place Camera
Place the camera on a flat surface or mount it on a wall or ceiling using the provided screws.
1. Mark Position
Use the mounting template to mark the desired camera location. For wall mounting, drill two holes through the indicated circles.
2. Mount Base
Attach the mounting screws with the help of the template. For wall mounting, insert anchors into the holes and screw the screws into the anchors.
3. Secure Camera
Hang the camera onto the screws.
Setup using Amazon Frustration-Free Setup
What is Amazon Frustration-Free Setup?
Amazon Frustration-Free Setup (FFS) simplifies connecting Tapo smart devices by reducing the need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords. To use FFS, ensure:
- The Tapo device supports Amazon FFS.
- You have an Amazon FFS-enabled Alexa device or router.
- Your Wi-Fi information is saved to Amazon via Alexa.
- Your Tapo device and router are on the same network as your Alexa device.
LED Indications during Amazon Frustration-Free Setup

If the LED does not turn solid green, you can manually add the Tapo device: press the Reset button on the device, then in the Tapo app, tap [+] select your device model, and follow the instructions.
How to use Amazon Frustration-Free Setup with Tapo devices
- Open the Amazon Alexa app. Tap the hamburger icon [☰] in the upper left corner and select 'Skills & Games'.
- In the search bar, type 'Tapo' and select the Tapo skill.
- Tap the 'ENABLE' button.
- Log in with your TP-Link ID that is bound to your Tapo device and tap 'Authorize'. A confirmation message will appear upon successful linking.
- Plug in your Tapo device; setup will complete automatically within two minutes. For additional Tapo devices, simply plug them in. If the device appears on the Tapo app's Home page, it's successfully associated with your Amazon account and connected to Wi-Fi. If not, follow the manual setup process.
Main Camera Controls
After setup, your camera will be listed on the Tapo app's home page, allowing you to view and manage it from anywhere.
Home Page
This page lists all added cameras. Tap a camera to view it directly or navigate to 'Camera Preview' > 'Manage' to enter the Live View page.
Live View
In Live View, you can:
- Tap [Talk] [?] or [Voice Call] [?] to communicate with others.
- Turn on [Alarm] [?] to be notified of motion detection.
- Enable [Privacy Mode] [?] to temporarily disable streaming and recording.
- Go to [Playback & Memory] [▶️] to review recordings.
Other controls include:
- Multi-Screen: View live feeds from multiple cameras simultaneously.
- Screenshot: Capture a still image.
- Camera Settings [⚙️]: Access detailed camera settings like name, detection, recording schedules, notifications, and activity zones.
- Day/Night Mode: Adjust for optimal viewing in different lighting conditions.
- Full Screen [⛶]: Expand the view to fill the screen.
- Volume [?]: Adjust audio levels.
- Record [?]: Manually start/stop recording.
Camera Settings
From the Live View page, tap [⚙️] to access Camera Settings. Here you can customize various aspects like camera name, detection settings, recording schedules, notifications, and activity zones.
Me Section
The 'Me' section allows you to:
- Account Info: Edit your avatar, name, or password.
- Camera Memory: View saved photos and videos.
- Camera Preferences: Customize on-screen tags (e.g., Live or Speed tag).
- Voice Control: Set up connections with third-party services for voice commands.
- Device Sharing: Share camera access with family members for joint management.
Motion Detection
The Tapo app alerts you to significant activity and sends notifications upon motion detection. Insert a microSD card to record motion clips; otherwise, you will only receive notifications. Initialize the SD card via the app before use.
Step 1: Customize Detection Settings
Navigate to 'Camera Settings' and tap 'Detection & Alerts' to adjust settings.
Step 2: Enable Motion Detection
On the 'Detection & Alerts' page, enable 'Motion Detection'. It is recommended to also enable 'Notifications' to receive alerts.
Step 3: Customize Camera Alarm
Choose the 'Alarm Type' (Sound/Light) and 'Alarm Sound' (Siren/Tone), and set an 'Alarm Schedule' as needed.
Step 4: Customize Activity Zones
Define specific 'Activity Zones' for motion detection. The camera will only detect motion within these custom zones; by default, the entire view is covered.
Step 5: Adjust Motion Sensitivity
Set 'Motion Sensitivity' to Low, Normal, or High. Higher sensitivity leads to more recordings and notifications.
Step 6: Set Recording Schedule
After configuring detection settings, you can set a 'Recording Schedule' for motion detection.
Step 7: View Recordings
On the Live View page, tap [Playback & Memory] [▶️] to find all recordings. Orange sections indicate motion detection recordings.
24-hour Recordings
A microSD card is required for 24-hour recording. Initialize the SD card via the app before use.
Step 1: Access Camera Settings
On the Live View page, tap [⚙️] to enter 'Camera Settings'.
Step 2: Enable Continuous Recording
Toggle on 'microSD Recording' and set the 'Recording Schedule' for Continuous Recording (24-hour Recording) as needed.
Step 3: View Continuous Recordings
On the Live View page, tap [Playback & Memory] [▶️] to find all recordings. Blue sections indicate continuous recording.
Privacy Mode
On the Live View page, tap [Privacy Mode] [?] to enable this feature. When active, streaming and recording functions are temporarily disabled to protect your privacy.
