Important Notes for Installation

This document provides a rear wall template essential for the installation of specific over-the-range microwave ovens. It is critical to read and follow all directions within the accompanying installation instructions before using this template. The template serves to accurately position the bottom mounting plate and to locate the horizontal exhaust outlet.

Template Usage and Wall Marking

To ensure correct placement and drilling, follow these steps:

Position the template on the rear wall and use a level to confirm accurate placement.
Locate and mark at least one wall stud on either the left or right side of the centerline.
Crucial Note: Secure the microwave's weight by using at least one wood screw firmly mounted into a stud.
Mark two additional, evenly spaced locations for the supplied toggle bolts.
Drill holes at the marked locations. Use a 3/16" drill bit for wood screws into studs and a 5/8" drill bit for toggle bolts where studs are not present.
Important: Do not install the mounting plate at this stage.
Once markings are complete, remove the template from the rear wall.

Exhaust Outlet Cutout

The template designates an area for cutting the horizontal outside exhaust.

The cutout section is labeled "F. CUT OUT FOR HORIZONTAL OUTSIDE EXHAUST".
This involves cutting a hole through the rear wall to accommodate the exhaust adaptor.
The template specifies dimensions for this cutout, typically around 12 inches wide and 4 inches high, with a required margin from the edge (e.g., 3/8").

Exhaust Placement Warning

⚠️ CAUTION: Incorrect placement of the exhaust adaptor outside the recommended dimensions can lead to grease-laden air discharging into the house structure.

Mounting Plate Alignment

The template aids in aligning the mounting plate by indicating precise hole locations.

Mark holes on the wall that correspond directly with the holes on the actual mounting plate.
IMPORTANT: Confirm the presence of at least one stud on each side of the centerline for robust mounting.
Identify and mark locations for two additional toggle bolts, spaced appropriately within the mounting plate area.
The template displays various hole indicators (labeled A, B, C, D) to guide screw and bolt placement.

General Installation Requirements

A minimum wall width of 30 inches (76.2 cm) is required for this installation.
