Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Case
Begin by removing the side panel and the front panel of your PC case. This provides access to the mounting area for the distro plate.
Step 2: Position the Distro Plate
The Distro Plate is designed to be mounted in a similar manner to the original front panel of the case. Carefully align it with the case's mounting points.
Step 3: Secure the Distro Plate
Use the original screws that came with your PC case to securely fasten the Distro Plate to the chassis. Ensure it is firmly attached.
Step 4: Configure Inlet and Outlet Ports (Part 1)
Identify the inlet and outlet ports on the Distro Plate. The port labeled "OUT" is intended to direct coolant from the Distro Plate to your PC components (e.g., CPU block, GPU block). The port labeled "IN" is for coolant returning from the components back to the Distro Plate.
Step 5: Configure Inlet and Outlet Ports (Part 2)
The Distro Plate features multiple G1/4 threaded ports arranged around a central reservoir. These ports are configurable for water flow inlet and outlet to various PC components like CPU blocks, GPU blocks, and radiators. The diagram illustrates potential connection configurations, allowing flexibility in loop design.
Step 6: Assembly Example 1 - Fewer than 3 Components
If you are connecting fewer than three components to the loop, the remaining associated inlet and outlet ports must be bridged. This is typically done using G1/4 plugs to seal off unused ports and ensure proper flow through the connected components.
Step 7: Assembly Example 2 - Three Components
An example of a typical water cooling loop assembly with three components connected to the Distro Plate is shown. This configuration demonstrates a common setup for CPU, GPU, and a radiator.
Step 8: Assembly Example 3 - More than 3 Components
If you need to connect more than three components (e.g., an additional radiator), the setup can be adapted. The Distro Plate's multiple ports allow for more complex loop designs and component integration.
Step 9: Connect ARGB Lighting
Connect the ARGB (Addressable RGB) lighting cable from the Distro Plate to your motherboard's ARGB header or a compatible controller. Ensure the connection is secure and matches the pinout.
Step 10: Connect Pump Cable
Connect the pump power cable to the appropriate header on your motherboard (e.g., CPU_FAN or a dedicated pump header) or a power supply unit, depending on the pump's requirements. Refer to the pump's specific manual if necessary.
Step 11: Filling and Ventilation
Fill the reservoir with a suitable coolant. For best results and compatibility, Alphacool recommends using their own range of cooling fluids. To remove trapped air from the reservoir, gently sway the reservoir back and forth. Open a suitable port to allow air bubbles to escape. Ensure all other openings are closed or in use during this process. If necessary, top up the coolant. Then, briefly switch on the pump to circulate the coolant. Switch the pump off again and repeat the filling and circulation process until all air has been expelled from the reservoir and the loop.
Step 12: Finishing Touches
Once the loop is filled, ventilated, and all connections are secure, mount the side panel of your PC case to complete the installation.
Dimensions
Detailed dimensions in millimeters (mm) are provided for the Alphacool Apex Distro Plate Y60. These diagrams illustrate the physical layout, mounting points, and overall size of the unit, ensuring proper fitment within compatible PC cases.
