Front panel
The front panel features:
- SoundGrid ports: These are built-in Gigabit switch ports with 2 locking EtherCon connectors, allowing direct connection of up to two devices.
- Link Status: Indicators that flash to show network activity.
The ports are labeled "SoundGrid 1" and "SoundGrid 2", with "WSG" and "Lnk Act" indicators next to each port.
Setting clock and patching signals
Use the SQ I/O screen to patch signals to or from the I/O Port.
Navigate to the Setup / Audio / Audio Sync screen to select the clock source for the mixer. Typically, this is set to 'Internal'. However, if the mixer is syncing from the Waves card (acting as a clock slave), for example in a digital split setup, this setting should be adjusted accordingly.
For detailed information on SQ setup and functions, please refer to the SQ Firmware Reference Guide, available for download at www.allen-heath.com.
The Waves SoundGrid Studio application is used to patch SoundGrid signals to/from other devices or the SG Driver, and to configure the sample rate and clock settings for the card.
Clock Configuration Notes:
- If the mixer clock is set to 'Internal', set the card clock to 'Digital'.
- In a slave system, if the mixer is set to 'Sync from the I/O Port', set the card clock to 'Ethernet'.
