1 Overview
The Polaris-C series represents the next generation of Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs) developed by Hanshow Technology. This series utilizes electronic ink screens and operates on the 2.4 GHz wireless communication frequency band for functions such as price changes, page switching, and flashing lights. The Polaris-C series features an ultra-thin design, long lifespan, and high-definition visual effects, making it suitable for traditional retail, new retail, department stores, fashion, pharmaceutical & health, and cultural & entertainment sectors.
1.1 System architecture
The Hanshow ESL system comprises ESLs, ESL Controller (AP), ESL-Working, PriSmart, Database, Integration server, CloudMonitor, and Handheld Terminal (PDA). The ESLs display product information like name and price. The system architecture is illustrated in Figure 1-1, showing the interaction between these components across multiple stores.
Figure 1-1 Hanshow ESL system architecture: The diagram shows a system with multiple stores (Store A, Store B, Store N). Within each store, there's an Access Point and a Wi-Fi Base. ESLs, PAD PDAs, and Remote Controls connect wirelessly to the Access Point. The Access Point connects to the ESL-Working system. The ESL-Working system interacts with databases and receives data from an Integration server. The Integration server receives data from a Monitor System and PriSmart. PriSmart also interacts with the Database. A Customer ERP system interfaces with the Integration server.

6 Precautions
Please observe the following precautions during transportation and use of the Polaris-C series.
6.1 Transportation considerations
- Ensure ESLs do not get wet during transportation to prevent damage to electronic components.
- Avoid compressing the ESLs during transportation to prevent screen damage.
- Maintain an environmental temperature not exceeding 40°C during transportation.
6.2 Precautions for use
- ESLs perform best in a normal operating and storage environment: 0°C ~ 40°C, 45% ~ 65% RH.
- Keep ESLs within the specified temperature range to avoid screen damage and shortened battery life.
- Output capacity degrades at low temperatures.
- Frequent communication or updates may shorten battery life.
- Avoid dropping or tossing ESLs.
- Do not disassemble ESLs without authorization.
- Do not disassemble ESL batteries.
- Do not scratch ESL bodies with sharp objects.
- Use dedicated Hanshow Polaris-C disassembly tools when disassembling.
- Mineral substances in rainwater, moisture, or liquids can corrode electronic circuits. Avoid exposing the product to water.
- Regularly clean the ESL to maintain its appearance.
- Promptly clean any cosmetics, perfumes, organic solvents, or similar substances from the ESL exterior or surface to prevent affecting the screen display and causing permanent damage to the casing and lens.
- Do not use chemical cleaners to wipe the screen.
- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight or incandescent light.
- Do not install the ESL in a strong magnetic environment.
- Do not place the ESL near fire sources or throw it into fire.
- Avoid placing the ESL near heating kitchen appliances (e.g., stove or microwave).
- The ESL system uses the 2.4 GHz frequency band for wireless communication. Its performance may be affected by interference from other wireless systems in the same band (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee).
