Product Overview

The Philips Steam&Go Plus is a handheld garment steamer designed for quick and effective dewrinkling of clothes.

Key Components:

  • 1. Steamer head: The part that emits steam.
  • 2. Steam ready light: Indicates when the steamer is heated and ready.
  • 3. Water tank: Holds the water for steaming.
  • 4. Power button: Turns the steamer on/off.
  • 5. Power cord: Connects the steamer to the power outlet.
  • 6. Brush: An attachment for thicker fabrics.
  • 7. Heat-resistant bag: For storage (GC362, GC363 models).
  • 8. Glove: Protects the hand holding the garment.
  • 9. Steam trigger button: Activates steam emission.

Safety Precautions

Always follow these safety guidelines:

  • ⚠️ Do not use your bare hand as a supporting surface when steaming. Pull the sides of the garment to stretch it.
  • Do not place the steamer head on the power cord after use.
  • Do not steam the face or body.
  • Do not steam garments while wearing them.
  • ✔️ Steam garments on hangers for best results.
  • ⚠️ Use caution with delicate fabrics like frills, ruffles, ruching, or sequins; maintain a slight distance.
  • ⚠️ Ensure the water tank is properly filled and the device is not operated without water.

How to Use

General Steaming:

  • Spread laundry properly after washing for easier dewrinkling. Hang garments to dry with fewer wrinkles.
  • When steaming, press the steamer head against the garment and pull the sides with your other hand to stretch it.

Specific Garment Types:

  • Buttoned Garments (Shirts, Jackets, Pants): Close the first button to help straighten the fabric.
  • Shirt Pockets: Move the steamer head upwards while pressing against the fabric.
  • Sleeves: Start from the shoulder area and move the steamer head downwards. Steam while pulling the sleeve diagonally down with your other hand.
  • Collars: Move the steamer horizontally along the collar.

Note: The appliance is suitable for creating a natural look and quick touch-ups. For stubborn wrinkles or a more formal look, using an iron in addition is recommended.

Delicate Fabrics:

For garments with frills, ruffles, ruching, or sequins, keep the steamer head at a slight distance. Use only the steam to loosen the fabric. You can also steam from the inside.

Horizontal Steaming:

Garments can be placed on a horizontal surface (e.g., ironing board, sofa, mattress) to create crisp pleats on sleeves and pants, and to better remove creases in difficult areas like shirt collars or cuffs.

Water Usage and Maintenance

Water Type:

This appliance is designed for tap water. If you live in an area with hard water, scale build-up may occur faster. To prolong the appliance's lifetime, it is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water, or a 50% mixture of demineralized/distilled water with tap water.

⚠️ Warning: Do not add perfume, water from tumble dryers, vinegar, magnetically treated water (e.g., Aqua+), starch, descaling agents, ironing aids, chemically descaled water, or other chemicals. These can cause water spitting, brown staining, or damage to the appliance.

Cleaning and Descaling:

  • Always empty the water tank after use to prevent scale build-up.
  • Rinse the water tank to remove any deposits.
  • Wipe any deposits off the steamer head with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaning agent.
  • ⚠️ Warning: Do not use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents, or aggressive liquids such as alcohol, petrol, or acetone to clean the appliance.

Getting Ready to Steam

The 'steam ready' light illuminates when the steamer is plugged in and powered on, indicating it is heating up. The steamer is ready for use approximately 45 seconds after the light turns off.

When steam is ready, direct the steam away from the garment for a few seconds, as the initial steam may contain water droplets.

Always keep the steam trigger pressed during steaming.

The steaming process may create small wet spots on the garment, and the garment may become slightly damp. After steaming, allow the garment to dry before storing or wearing it.

Using Accessories

Glove:

Wear the glove on the hand used to hold the garment. The glove protects your hand from the steam emitted by the steamer head.

Brush Attachment:

The brush attachment improves steam penetration for faster and better steaming results on thick and heavy garments like coats and jackets. Use the brush by pressing the steam trigger and slowly moving the bristles along the garment.

Note: Always unplug the steamer before attaching or detaching the brush. Be careful, as the steamer head may still be hot.
