Detaching the Iron from the Stand
Press the release button (indicated by "CLICK") to detach the iron from its base.
Cleaning the Anti-Calc Collector
The anti-calc collector is located near the water tank. Remove it by pressing the release mechanism (indicated by "CLICK"). Rinse the collector under running water. Reinsert it until it clicks into place. The "ANTI-CALC" indicator will turn off after cleaning and reinsertion.
Operation and Heating
The control panel allows for temperature selection based on fabric type: SYNTH, SILK, WOOL, COTTON, LINEN. An ECO mode is available for energy saving. The ON/OFF button controls the power. Indicators for WATER and ANTI-CALC status are present. Two control panel examples are shown: "PRO EXPRESS TOTAL X-PERT CONTROL" and "PRO EXPRESS CARE".
Filling Water Before Ironing
Ensure the iron is cool. Open the water tank cap. Tilt the iron at a 45° angle. Fill the tank with water up to the "Max." level using a jug or cup. Close the cap securely.
Regular Ironing and Vertical Ironing (Curtains, Clothes on Hanger)
For regular ironing, place the garment on an ironing board and iron as usual. For vertical ironing, hang the garment on a hanger and hold the iron vertically. Steam can be released by pressing the steam button. Avoid ironing directly on the soleplate without fabric (indicated by a "❌" symbol).
Steam Ironing
"Pro Express X-Pert Care" settings: Various fabric types (SYNTH, SILK, WOOL, COTTON, LINEN) can be selected with corresponding steam levels.
"Pro Express Care" settings: Select fabric type (DELICATE, NORMAL, MAX) to adjust temperature and steam output.
Economical Operating Mode (ECO)
The ECO mode reduces energy consumption while maintaining effective ironing. Press the ECO button to activate or deactivate it.
Correct Placement
Diagrams show the iron correctly placed on its heel on the ironing board.
Filling Water During Ironing
If the water tank runs low during ironing, unplug the iron, wait for it to cool slightly, open the cap, fill with water up to the "Max." level, close the cap, and plug it back in.
Descaling
The "⚙️" indicator will light up when it's time to descale. Unplug the iron and let it cool completely (at least 2 hours). Open the anti-calc collector, remove it, rinse it under running water, and reinsert it until it clicks. Press the "✔️" button to confirm.
Cleaning the Water Tank (Twice a Year)
Unplug the iron and let it cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Rinse the water tank thoroughly with clean water. Reinsert the anti-calc collector. The process is recommended twice a year.
Automatic Shut-off Mechanism (Model Dependent)
The iron automatically shuts off after a period of inactivity to save energy and for safety.
If the iron is left upright for 8 min, it will enter standby mode. Press the "▶️/⏹️" button to resume.
If the iron is left flat or on its side for 30 min, it will shut off completely. Press the "▶️/⏹️" button to restart.
At the End of Use
Unplug the iron from the power outlet. Allow the iron to cool down completely before storing it. Store the iron upright in a safe place.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage
Cleaning the Soleplate: Use a soft, damp cloth or a non-abrasive sponge to clean the soleplate after it has cooled down. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal polish, or harsh chemicals.
Maintenance: Regularly check the power cord and steam hose for any signs of damage.
Storage: Store the iron upright in a cool, dry place after it has cooled down completely.
For Your Safety
- This steam iron is for domestic use only. Commercial use or misuse will void the warranty.
- Always unplug the appliance by pulling the plug, not the cord. Unplug before filling the water tank, cleaning, or after each use.
- The anti-calc collector must be installed for the iron to function.
- Place the iron on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure the surface it rests on is stable.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or have received instructions from a responsible person.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Surfaces marked with a heat symbol are hot during and immediately after use. Do not touch them until the iron has cooled completely.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected to the mains or while it is cooling down (for up to one hour).
- Do not use industrial descalers, vinegar, or other chemical products to clean the tank. They can damage the appliance. Wait at least two hours for the iron to cool completely before opening the tank cap or anti-calc collector cover.
- WARNING: If the tank cap or collector cover is dropped, damaged, leaks, or malfunctions, have it inspected and/or repaired at an authorized service center.
- Do not fill the tank directly from the tap. Do not open the tank cap during use.
- Do not use the iron if it has been dropped, is visibly damaged, leaks, or does not function correctly. Do not attempt to disassemble the appliance yourself; contact an authorized service station.
- Before use, check the power cord and steam hose for any defects or damage. Replacement must be carried out by a qualified service center.
- This appliance complies with current technical standards and regulations regarding safety (electromagnetic compatibility, low voltage, environmental protection).
Water Usage
Your steam iron is an electrical appliance. Use it accordingly. It is designed for domestic use only.
The appliance is equipped with two safety systems: A pressure release valve to prevent excessive pressure. If a fault occurs, the valve will release excess steam. A thermal fuse to prevent overheating.
Connect the appliance to a suitable electrical system (AC only). Incorrect connection may cause irreversible damage and void the warranty. Connect the iron to a 220V-240V socket with proper grounding.
Do not leave the power cord near or on hot surfaces or sharp edges. The soleplate and stand of the appliance can reach very high temperatures and may cause burns. Do not touch them. Prevent contact between the soleplate and the power cord.
Use a ventilated or perforated ironing board and be careful of steam when ironing near the edges of the board. The appliance emits steam, which can cause burns. Handle the appliance with care, especially when upright. Do not direct steam towards people or pets.
Do not immerse the iron in water or any other liquid. Do not rinse it under running water!
What Water Can Be Used?
The iron is designed for use with regular tap water. If your water is very hard, it is recommended to mix it with distilled water (50% tap water, 50% distilled water), which can be purchased at most stores.
Water That Cannot Be Used
Heat concentrates the substances in the water during evaporation. The following types of water may contain organic substances, minerals, or chemicals that could cause uneven steam emission, brown stains, or premature wear of the appliance: water from clothes dryers, perfumed water, softened water, battery water, air conditioner water, rainwater, filtered boiled water, or bottled drinking water. Such water is not suitable for use in TEFAL irons. Distilled water can be used as mentioned above.
Always Remember
Do not use rainwater, water containing additives (starch, perfumes, softeners, etc.), or water formed by condensation (such as water from clothes dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners, or rain). Types of water containing organic waste or mineral particles may cause sputtering, brown stains, and premature wear of the appliance.
