Setting the water rate for flushing the bowl unit

Press the flush button to automatically set the volume of water for flushing the bowl unit. Refer to the check items "Trial run 15 Set the water rate for flushing the bowl unit" on page 17.

Safety Precautions
Be sure to carefully read this "Safety Precautions" document before beginning installation. Please comply with all safety warnings and precautions.

General Warnings:
- Do not use this product with any power supply other than the one specified (AC120 V, 60 Hz). Doing so may result in heat or fire.
- Do not use the product if the power cord or power source connection is damaged or loose. Doing so may result in electrical shock or fire.
- Do not install a power connecting part directly beneath a water supply location. Do not allow the water supply hose to touch the power connecting part. Doing so may cause condensation resulting in fire, electrical shock, heat, or a short.
- Only use potable water. Do not use seawater or recycled water. Doing so may cause irritation to the skin and malfunction.
- Do not install the product on moving vehicles such as wheeled vehicles or boats. Doing so may cause fire, electric shock, short circuit, or malfunction. The toilet seat, toilet lid, main unit, or other parts may come loose and fall off, resulting in injury.
- Do not damage the power cord or power source connection. Do not strike, yank, twist, excessively bend, damage, alter, or heat any power cord or power source connection. Do not place heavy objects on, bind, or pinch them. Using a damaged power cord may result in fire, electrical shock, heat, or a short.
- Do not exceed the rated capacity of your electrical outlets. Using a single outlet for multiple devices via an extension cord or adapters may result in fire from excess heat.
- Be sure to plug the power cord (C-8) all the way into the wall socket (C-8-1). Doing so may result in electrical shock or fire.
- Always use a grounded electrical outlet connected to a ground fault circuit interrupter (30 mA or less).
- To unplug, hold the power plug, not the power cord. Pulling on the power cord may cause damage and result in fire or heat.
- This is an electrical product. Do not locate it where water is likely to get on it or in a humid environment where water may form on the surface. Install a ventilation fan or opening in bathrooms to ensure sufficient airflow and avoid extreme humidity. Failure to do so may result in electrical shock or fire.
- Do not directly strike the porcelain section. This could break the porcelain section, causing injury, material damage, or a water leak.
- When carrying this product, always hold it by the porcelain section. Carrying it by any other section could break the product, causing injury, material damage, or a water leak.
- If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by the manufacturer's repair department or an equivalent specialist.
- Always connect the product to the cold water supply. Connecting to hot water supply may result in burns and equipment damage.
- When installing this product, comply with regional codes and standards for installation and electrical work.
Grounding and Wiring Precautions:
- Verify that an appropriate ground is installed. If not, lack of ground could cause electrical shock during a breakdown or leak. If no ground is installed, ask the contractor who performed the installation to install it.
- Confirm that wiring is connected correctly (L terminal: Live, N terminal: Neutral). Incorrect wiring may cause mechanical failure. Ensure all-pole disconnection is provided in the fixed wiring.
Handling Precautions:
- Do not lift the product by the toilet seat or toilet lid. Doing so may result in the product main body dislodging, falling, and causing injury.
- Do not fold or crush the water supply hose; do not damage it with a sharp object. Doing so may result in water leakage.
- Do not remove the water filter or drain plug while the water supply valve is open. Doing so will result in water leakage.
- Install the Washlet properly according to the Installation Guide. Improper installation may result in water leakage, electric shock, or fire.
- Make sure the plus and minus signs on the batteries are aligned correctly before inserting them. Otherwise, batteries may leak fluid, generate heat, rupture, or ignite.
- When the product will not be used for a long time, remove the batteries from the remote control. Failure to do so may cause batteries to leak fluid.
- Ensure reliable installation of quick fasteners. If not attached correctly, they may come off and cause leaks.
Precautions before installation:
- Do not turn on the electricity and water supply until installation work is complete.
- Do not damage the connection components on the water supply hose (C-6).
- Water supply pressure should range from 7.25 PSI (0.05 MPa) to 108.78 PSI (0.75 MPa). Low pressure may affect toilet bowl cleaning.
- Water supply temperature should be between 32-95 °F (0 to 35 °C).
- Working ambient temperature should be between 32-104 °F (0 to 40 °C).
- Do not use water supply hoses (C-6) other than those supplied with the product.
- Water may remain inside the product from factory testing; this does not indicate a problem.
- Perform wiring according to product specifications (rated power 15 A or more, 120 V AC (60 Hz)). Power supply and consumption are indicated on the product label.
- The power cord is 3.93 ft (1.2 m) long. Ensure the outlet is located appropriately for this length.
- Remote control reception may be affected by room size, fixture layout, dark ceiling/wall colors, or the presence of shelves/cabinets behind the unit. Inverter lighting systems may also interfere. Adjust remote control position or try from an opposite wall.

Installation Procedure

Check items before installation

Step 1: Check water supply hose
Ensure the water supply hose (C-6) is not caught or damaged. Check its position relative to the toilet bowl rim (C-9).
Step 2: Prepare toilet bowl
Lift the toilet seat (C-1) and lid (C-2). Ensure the power cord (C-8) is accessible.
Step 3: Secure main unit mounting bracket
Ensure the main unit mounting bracket (C-10) is correctly positioned and secure.
Step 4: Remove toilet seat
If necessary, remove the toilet seat (C-1). This involves pressing a release button (C-3) while lifting the seat.
Step 5: Connect water supply
Turn off the water supply using the shutoff valve (C-4). Disconnect the existing water supply hose. Attach the new water filter (C-7) and water supply hose (C-6) using the provided fittings (C-6-1, C-6-2) and wrench (B-1). Ensure connections are secure.
Step 6: Mount main unit
Attach the main unit (A-6) to the toilet bowl using the mounting bolts (A-7) and nuts (A-8). Tighten securely with a screwdriver (B-2).
Step 7: Install remote control bracket
Mount the remote control bracket (A-2) on the wall using screws (A-4) and anchors (A-5) if needed. Ensure it is level and securely fastened.
Step 8: Connect power
Plug the power cord (C-8) into the wall socket (C-8-1).
Remote Control Mounting

Step 9: Prepare remote control
Press the protrusion on the remote control (A-3) to access its mounting features.
Step 10: Determine remote control position
Temporarily place the remote control in the desired location on the wall. Consider dimensions: 37-13/32" (950 mm) height, 11-3/4" (300 mm) from the side, 30-5/16" (770 mm) from the floor.
Step 11: Test signal reception
Place the remote control temporarily and confirm signal reception with the main unit. Hold down the remote control (A-1) and check for a signal.
Step 12: Mount remote control bracket
For plaster board or tiled walls, use the drill (B-4) with appropriate bits (e.g., 1/8" x 2 or 1/4" x 2) and screws (A-4) with anchors (A-5) to mount the bracket (A-2).
Step 13: Attach remote control to bracket
Slide the remote control (A-1) onto the mounted bracket (A-2).
Trial Run

Step 14: Open water shutoff valve
Open the water shutoff valve (C-4) using the provided tool (A-9a). If water continues to supply the bowl unit, close the manual water supply knob (orange) to stop the flow.
Step 15: Set volume of water for flushing

This product automatically measures the volume of water in the usage environment when the bowl unit is flushed (full flush) for the first time to set an appropriate volume of water. This process takes about 6 minutes and involves 3 or 6 flushes.
Setting Precautions: Failure to follow these may result in an incorrect water volume setting.
- Do not use water from the bathroom, kitchen, etc.
- Do not open or close the shutoff valve (C-4) during this process.
- Do not operate the manual water supply knob.
- Do not press all buttons on the remote control.
- Inform your customer about these precautions.
Setting Process:
The unit will automatically flush 3 or 6 times. The display will show "Setting in progress".
Upon completion, you will hear a long beep if successful, or a different beep pattern if setting failed (requires reset). The display will indicate "Setting complete" or prompt for reset.
How to Cancel Setting

If the setting is incorrect or needs to be redone:
- Press and hold the "Rear washing" (X) and "Front washing" (Y) buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. The remote control LED will light up or flash.
- Press the "Rear washing" button.
- Press the "Front washing" button.
- Press the "Water pressure adjustment -" button.
This sequence will result in a short beep, indicating the setting has been canceled. You can then perform the setting again.
Final Steps and Installer Information
Step 17: Final checks
After installing the top unit, follow the installation manual supplied with the bowl unit to install the bowl unit itself. Ensure all connections are secure and the unit is stable.

If the product will not be used for a long time (e.g., in an unoccupied new building):
- Turn off power at the breaker or disconnect the power plug.
- To avoid leakage, remove the batteries from the remote control.
