Assembly Instructions

WARNING:

Heater must not be used without the feet, castors, wheels fitted. This appliance has been supplied with ‘1 way screws’ for permanent installation of the feet. This is a safety requirement for the New Zealand and Australian market. Before using this appliance, it must have the castor plates with castors fitted. The screw pack to attach the feet to your appliance will be taped to either one of the feet for your appliance, or taped to the plug.

WARNING:

Operate the appliance in normal upright position only with wheel assemblies attached to the bottom. Any other position could create a hazardous situation.

Diagram Description:

Picture A shows the underside of the heater with two wheel assemblies at the rear. Arrows indicate insertion points.

Picture B shows the underside of the heater with two foot assemblies at the front. Arrows indicate insertion points.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Carefully turn the Main Body upside-down on a scratch-free and stable surface. Be careful to prevent damage to the cosmetic finish or your floor surfacing.
  2. Slide the wheel set fully into the grooves in the base of the heater nearest to the back of the heater as shown in Picture A.
  3. Slide the foot set fully into the grooves at the control panel/power cord end of the heater as shown in Picture B.

Operating Your Heater

Always choose a safe location for the heater, keeping in mind the safety precautions outlined. Ensure all packaging has been removed from the unit before use. Please follow the below instructions.

WARNING:

In order to avoid overheating or fire, do not cover the heater.

WARNING:

Keep all objects at least 1 metre from the front, sides and rear of the appliance.

WARNING:

Do not use this heater with a programmer, separate timer, remote-control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.

WARNING:

Never leave this heater unattended when in use.

Ensure heater is on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Once the heater is in a safe operating position and all switches are in the off position, insert the power plug into the mains outlet and switch on.

CAUTION:

Ensure the power cord is not tight because if pulled it may partially pull the plug from the socket. A partially inserted plug will overheat the plug and socket and could result in fire.

Note:

When the appliance is turned on for the first time, it may release a slight odour or smoke. This odour or smoke is a normal occurrence caused by the initial heating of the heating elements and should not occur again.

HEATER POWER SWITCH

  • Check that the heat control switch at the back of the heater is set to Off position before plugging the heater in and turning on the mains supply.
  • Turn the Power Switch at the back of the heater to the “I” position.

The temperature is read from a thermostat in the heater. For a more accurate reading, position a separate thermometer in another part of the room.

To find your preferred comfort level, set the thermostat to the maximum setting. When the room reaches a comfortable temperature for you, look at the temperature reading on the heater and then set the heater to this temperature. The heater will now cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.

TIMER

  • Press the Timer button then use the "[up arrow]" and "[down arrow]" buttons to adjust the length of time from 1-18 hours that you would like the heater to run for before turning off automatically.
  • Each press of the "[up arrow]" and "[down arrow]" buttons will adjust the length of time by an hour.
  • Once the timer has been set, the timer will count down the hours, hour by hour, until the heater turns itself off.
  • To turn off the Timer function, press the "[down arrow]" button back down to "0" hours or simply turn the unit off.

REMOTE CONTROL

The remote will operate all of the controls the same as the control panel. This remote requires 2 x AAA batteries which are not included in the box.

Safety Devices

This appliance has three protection devices:

  • Resettable thermal link: This will automatically disconnect the power to the appliance at a pre-set overheat temperature. After cooling down it will reset and power on again. If this occurs, investigate what is causing the appliance to overheat.
  • Thermal fuse: This disconnects the appliance permanently in case of overheating. (It is non resettable).

CAUTION:

The appliance generates heat during use. Precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, scalds, fires or other damage to persons.

Care and Cleaning

The heater requires regular cleaning to ensure trouble-free operation:

  • Unplug the heater from the mains supply before cleaning.
  • Ensure that the heater has been allowed to cool down completely before cleaning.
  • The common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning the air vents and grills.
  • Use a damp cloth (not wet) to wipe the exterior of the heater to remove dust and dirt.
  • Never use solutions such as petrol, thinners or polishing agents.
  • Ensure the heater is dry before plugging back into the mains supply.
