Battery and Power

How to Charge

Connect the 4-pin USB cable to the H2O TRI headphones. The connector attaches magnetically and only fits one way. The LED indicator shows charging status: Red LED indicates charging, and Blue LED indicates the battery is full. A full battery provides approximately 6 hours of playtime.

Power On/Off

To turn the headphones ON or OFF, press and hold the middle button for 3 seconds. When turning ON, you will hear the current battery level status.

Resetting the Headphones

To reset the H2O TRI headphones, ensure they are turned OFF, then press and hold the power (middle) button for 10 seconds. The LED light will blink 3 times to confirm the reset.

Downloading Music via USB

Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged for a stable USB connection. Turn OFF the headphones before connecting the 4-pin USB cable to the headphones and a computer USB port. Avoid bumping the headphones while connected.

The H2O TRI will appear as a memory drive or USB Memory device. The headphones support .MP3, .WMA, and .M4A music files. Subscription-based music services (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora) are copyright protected and cannot be copied via USB. Use the PLAYLIST+ feature for such content.

To transfer music, select or copy music files on your computer and then copy/paste or drag & drop them to the H2O TRI drive. Do not disconnect until all files are copied.

To remove or delete files, select them on the H2O TRI memory and delete them or drag them to Trash. To disconnect from the computer, safely eject the H2O TRI or simply disconnect it.

Troubleshooting USB Connection

If experiencing USB connection issues, disconnect the H2O TRI, power it off, and restart your computer. Try connecting again, possibly using a different USB port. Ensure the H2O TRI battery is charged. A reset (hold Mode button for 10 sec when OFF) may also resolve issues.

Memory / Bluetooth Pairing

Memory Mode (Folders & Shuffle)

Music can be organized into different folders. The H2O TRI includes 'LOAD' and 'FAVORITE' folders. The 'LOAD' folder stores audio loaded via PLAYLIST+. You can skip to the next or previous folder with a 2-click of the +/- button. Shuffle Mode can be activated by a 3-click of the M button.

Bluetooth Connection & Pairing

Start with the H2O TRI headphones OFF. Power ON by pressing the middle button for 2 seconds. Change to Bluetooth Mode by double-clicking the M button; you will hear "Bluetooth Mode". On your smartphone or smartwatch, go to Bluetooth settings, find "H2O TRI", and select it to pair. A blue blinking LED indicates a successful connection.

Note: Bluetooth range is approximately 10m/30ft in air and 10cm/2 inches underwater. Bluetooth does not penetrate water effectively due to the laws of physics.

PLAYLIST+

PLAYLIST+ is H2O Audio's technology allowing you to load any Bluetooth audio into the headphones for listening without a phone, even underwater. This is useful for streaming apps, audio books, and podcasts.

Adding Audio to Your PLAYLIST+

  1. Enter Bluetooth mode and pair the headphones with your smartphone.
  2. Start playing your favorite music.
  3. To start/stop loading, 2-click the + button. A rapid blue LED indicates loading is active. The headphones will listen to and store the audio. Ensure your play volume is set high enough, as volume changes are stored with the audio.
  4. You can charge the TRI PRO battery while loading using a wall charger (not a computer).
  5. To play the PLAYLIST+, enter Memory Mode and skip (2-click + button) to the LOAD folder.

How to Wear & Use for Sports

General Wearing

The H2O TRI headphones are OPEN EAR and use Bone Conduction. The speakers are positioned IN FRONT of the ear, leaving your ear canal open to hear surrounding sounds.

Diagram Description: The headphones feature a band that wraps around the head, with ear hooks that rest over the ears. The speaker modules are positioned just in front of the ear opening.

Biking & Running with H2O TRI

You can use either Bluetooth or Memory Mode for biking and running. Memory mode allows you to leave your phone at home, playing music directly from the internal memory. PLAYLIST+ audio can also be listened to without your phone. Bluetooth mode requires a paired device you are carrying.

Safety Tip

It is important to adjust the audio level so you can hear ambient sounds from your surroundings (e.g., cars, traffic). The open-ear design facilitates hearing these sounds.

Swimming with H2O TRI

Recommended Mode

For swimming, Memory Mode is recommended for uninterrupted sound without needing additional devices.

Underwater Listening

Use PLAYLIST+ to load music from Bluetooth and listen underwater. If using a music-enabled smartwatch (like Apple Watch), it can serve as the audio source. The smartwatch must be placed within 2-3 inches of the headphones, potentially under a swim cap or using an H2O Audio Apple Watch Clip (sold separately). Note: Bluetooth range underwater is only a few inches.

How to Wear During Swimming

Use your swim goggle strap or swim cap over the headphones to keep them securely in place.

Tip for Audio Experience

For the best audio experience, it is recommended to use earplugs to reduce the ambient sound of water splashing.
