INSTALLATION WINDOWS 7
For Windows 7, use the supplied CD-ROM with Honestech AVR. If you no longer have a CD player, you can download the program here. Please note, it is a ZIP file, you must first "unzip" the files before use. If you are not familiar with unzipping, you can find an explanation via this link from Microsoft.

Double click on new drive for UVG-002 Double click on autorun.exe

Give permission when prompted by Windows. The installation screen should then appear

INSTALLATION WINDOWS 10 AND 11
Windows 10 and 11 automatically recognize the video grabber. You don't need to install anything for this. The supplied CD-ROM is only for Windows 7.
You do need software. If you do not have video software yourself, we recommend OBS studio (free). You can download it at https://obsproject.com/
Install OBS studio and then restart the computer. When the computer has restarted, open the OBS app on your computer.
If you are not familiar with such software, we have a short description here. You can also ask your questions at www.obsproject.com on their forum or via a Discord chat. There are also many videos on YouTube for using OBS studio.

SHORT DESCRIPTION OBS STUDIO

Choose Video Capture device

Fill in a name for your videofile and click OK

Choose AV to USB2.0 or OEM device and click OK

Set your connected device to PLAY and you can start digitizing (record button). Everything can be adjusted in OBS according to your wishes in terms of settings. Our advice is to first record a small piece to check your image and sound during the recordings.
If OBS sees the grabber as OEM or AV 2.0 USB but you do not see an image, then check your computer whether you have the correct settings in Windows for permission for the use of camera.

Can I edit videos in OBS?

OBS sees the video grabber, but I have no image?

Check the settings in your Windows for camera permission.

I have connected a video recorder, but the picture is black and white and/or the sound is poor

Check whether you have only connected the RCA plugs. If you also have the round S-video cable in between, this will cause interference (black/white image and/or poor sound).

I have a Firewire camera, how can I connect it?

You need a separate (not included) cable for this. This may be included with your video camera. You use this cable in the AV OUT jack connection of your camera.

I connected the video recorder with the scart adapter, but OBS does not see it?

Check whether the slider on the scart adapter is set to OUT

I have image, but no sound?

Click with the rightmousebutton in the field AUDIOMIXER
Then, in the drop-down menu that appears, select the Advanced audio properties option

Where the L-----R slider (active) is located, set it to Monitor and Output.
