Logitech Harmony Pro 2400 Setup Guide

This guide provides instructions for setting up your Logitech Harmony Pro 2400 system.

Package Contents

The package includes the following items:

  • 1. Harmony Pro 2400 Remote
  • 2. Harmony Pro 2400 Hub
  • 3. Remote charging station
  • 4. Charging station power adapter: Provides power to the remote charging station.
  • 5. Hub power adapter: Provides power to Harmony Pro 2400 Hub.
  • 6. 3.5mm M2M cable: Connect IR devices directly when used with Harmony Pro 2400 Hub.
  • 7. Three 3.5mm to IR emitters: IR emitters attach directly to device IR windows for more precise control than a general IR blaster.

Getting Started

Step 1: Properly Positioning the Hub

The Harmony Pro 2400 Hub can be placed in any unobstructed location where IR signals can be transmitted to AV equipment. It can also be placed in cabinets using 3.5mm IR emitters or 3.5mm male to male cables positioned properly and connected to the hub.

Power Options

The Harmony Pro 2400 hub can be powered by the included AC adapter, or a PoE connected Ethernet cable. When using a PoE connected Ethernet cable, the AC adapter is not required.

Once plugged in, the hub takes approximately 30 seconds to power up. The LED will glow red initially, then flash red when ready to pair with your BT enabled mobile device. Once it has successfully been connected to a Harmony account the LED will glow green.

Step 2: Charge Your Remote

Plug in the charging station and place the remote in it. Keep the remote in the charging station until setup is complete. The remote will hold a charge for 2-3 days of typical use. Ensure the user places the remote in the charging base when not in use.

Step 3: Install the Harmony App

Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play and install the Harmony App.

Open Your Logitech Pro Portal Account

A Logitech Pro Portal account is required to access dealer-exclusive features. Visit pro.myharmony.com to sign up if you do not have an account.

The portal allows managing clients, programming and pushing syncs remotely, reducing the need for service calls. It also provides access to online training, collateral, webinars, and other tools for the installer channel.

For detailed instructions and product information, visit support.myharmony.com/pro.

Setup is completed using an iOS or Android mobile device. Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled on your mobile device.

Mobile App Setup Overview

  • Log into your Logitech Pro Portal account. Select 'Add client' or 'Add remote'. Sign up at pro.myharmony.com if you don't have a dealer account.
  • Set up client account: The Harmony app will prompt for the client's email and information. The remote can be programmed without a password initially.
  • Scan your network: Harmony automatically detects controllable devices and adds them without requiring IP or MAC information (e.g., Sonos, Lutron, Roku, Hue, Smart TVs).
  • Add home entertainment devices: For products not found via network scan, enter the manufacturer and model number (e.g., TV, cable box, AVR, game console, Blu-ray player).
  • Add home control devices: Harmony supports various devices like lighting, locks, thermostats, and home control platforms. Refer to the 'Home Controls Explained' section for details.
  • Create Activities: Follow guided steps to create Activities like 'Watch TV', 'Listen to Music', and 'Good Night'. Refer to the 'One-touch Activities' section for more information.
  • Software update and sync: Your remote's software may need updating. If prompted after mobile setup, place the remote on the charging cradle. The remote will indicate syncing progress and completion.

One-touch Activities

Popular Harmony Activities include 'Watch TV' and 'Watch Movie'. Encourage creative use of technology to set moods. The Logitech Pro Portal allows adding more activities without service calls.

  • Cooking: Brighten kitchen lights, play a cooking playlist, or turn on a favorite cooking channel. Voice control is also an option.
  • Dinner Party: Launch a favorite dinner playlist, dim lights, and adjust heating.
  • Party Time: Group wireless speakers, adjust volume by room, and play upbeat music. Adjust home lighting and lower the thermostat.
  • Relax: Dim lights, play relaxing music at the perfect volume.
  • Good Night: Turn off lights, lower blinds, adjust thermostat, and lock doors.

How To Use Your Remote

  1. Clock/Battery: Tap to toggle between clock and battery meter. The battery meter displays if the charge is below 20%.
  2. Activities: Tap the 'Activities' soft button to access the Activities Home Screen, displaying a list of created activities.
  3. Devices: Tap the 'Devices' soft button to access the Devices Home Screen, showing a list of multimedia and home control devices. Tap a device name to view its controls. Tap 'Activities' to return to the current Activity.
  4. Transport Control: Buttons are automatically mapped to device controls selected during Activity creation. Button mappings can be customized.
  5. Home Control: The Harmony Pro 2400 features programmable buttons for supported home control devices. For example, map a button to control lights on/off and use the +/- buttons to adjust brightness.

Harmony Pro 2400 Hub Features

  1. Detachable SMA Antenna: External antenna for greater range. A cable can be added for increased flexibility.
  2. 3.5mm Assignable IR Ports: Standard 3.5mm IR ports, individually assignable for male-to-male connections, duplicate devices, and precision IR emitters.
  3. Micro USB Power Connection: Power the hub with the included 5V/2A power adapter. Note: This adapter differs from the one for the charging station; both are labeled for easy identification.
  4. Ethernet and PoE Connection: Supports Ethernet connection and 2.4GHz WiFi. The Ethernet port is PoE enabled, allowing power and data transmission via an Ethernet cable to a PoE-enabled switch.

Additional Setup Tips

  • Programming Favorites: For activities involving TV, Sonos, Heos, or Roku, easily select frequently used channels by setting favorites. This takes a few minutes and mimics selecting an app on a phone.
  • Gestures & Gesture Hints: When an activity is running, swipe down from the top of the screen to display the gesture screen for activity-related functions. Tap the top button to see available gestures for each activity.
  • Remote Customization: Click the gear icon (⚙️) to modify remote settings like vibration, backlight, tilt sensor, and touch duration for starting activities, allowing for a personalized experience.
