OS Support

Zebra PTT Pro Android client 3.3.1033x is supported by Zebra devices running Android 8, 10, 11, 13, and 14 OS. Zebra PTT Pro Android client 3.3.1033x is supported by non-Zebra devices running Android 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 OS.

Note:

• Customers using the Gen 1 or Gen 2 Zebra PTT Pro Android client must upgrade to the Gen 2 client (version 3.3.10186 or above) by March 31st, 2023. Versions earlier than 3.3.10186 will not be supported after March 31st, 2023. Support for Android 5, 6, and 7 is also deprecated.

Resolved Issues

• A crash occurs when the user clears the recent tab while a voice command is being processed.
• Users continue to receive “Urgent Message" notifications even after signing out.
• Button cropping issue on the notification bar.

Known Issues

• A silent crash occurs when initiating a call from a PTT Pro client with version 3.0.10331 user to a previous PTT Pro client application user.
• "Activate Zebra PTT Pro” will not perform any action while activating PTT Pro on GMS devices via email.
• When the Zero Touch product is pushed by AirWatch and manually activated, a crash is recorded in the logs.

Usage Notes

• When Zebra PTT Pro and the Zebra Voice Al application are used together, PTT Pro sends the group list details to Zebra Voice Al whenever it receives a response from the sync service. Therefore, it is recommended to wait a few seconds after logging into PTT Pro before making a group call from the Zebra Voice Al application.
• The "Allow Bluetooth Audio" setting has been removed. Zebra PTT Pro client will automatically use Bluetooth device for audio if Bluetooth Device is paired with device. User still needs to configure Headset PTT Button for PTT Button usage.
• To use certain Bluetooth PTT Button accessories, Zebra PTT Pro clients require installation of Zebra Communication Central component. Zebra Communication Central is not required if Bluetooth accessories is used for audio communication only. Please see Zebra Communication Central User Guide for further information.

Additional Notes on Bluetooth Headsets and Device Compatibility

• Jabra Blue Parrott Bluetooth Headsets requires installation of Zebra Communication Central component.
• Zebra PTT Pro client will no longer work on rooted Android devices.
• On devices with Android 12 and above, user must grant extra permission "Allow Zebra PTT Pro to find, connect to, and determine the relative position of nearby devices?" when Zebra PTT Pro client is used with Bluetooth accessories.
• When both Wired headset and Bluetooth Headset are connected to device, PTT call audio will route via wired headset but not through Bluetooth headset.
• Zebra PTT Pro client does not support self-signed certificates.
• Please note that accuracy of voice recognition for Voice Commands feature is dependent upon "Google" app on the device. Please make sure that device has the latest version of "Google" app installed. Google App can be manually updated by following steps described here.
