Insert the axles of the guide rollers in the holes in the container until they engage. Fit the large wheels as shown.
6.3 Inserting a Fleece Filter Bag
Recommended for applications with small amounts of fine dust (e.g., spot-grinding, grinding paint/lacquer, drilling applications with small diameters < 10 mm) and use with machines like routers, planers, small grinding machines.
Procedure:
- Switch off the appliance, remove the mains plug, and open the snap locks (9).
- Remove the upper part (8) from the container (10).
- For ASR 50 M SC: On the inside of the suction opening, push the red rotary slide with its "triangle" marking upwards. (To twist the slide, push it slightly towards the suction hose, and pull it back after twisting).
- For ASR 25 M SC: Turn the red rotary switch (on the inside of the suction opening) until the stop: the text "CLOSE" shows upwards to the marking ⚠️.
- Holding the new fleece filter bag by the flange, slide the bottom part over the suction connection, and the top part over the latch pin.
- Replace the upper part of the appliance on the container and close the snap locks.
6.4 Inserting PE filter bag (for ASR 50 M SC only)
PE filter bags (5) are suitable for both wet and dry vacuuming. Recommended for applications where larger amounts of dust are created (e.g., removal of plaster surfaces, spot-grinding, grinding of screeds) and use with machines like renovation milling machines, grinders, drywall grinders, wall grinders.
When using a PE disposal bag, the filter cleaning must be switched on (function AR / IR) for corresponding materials.
Procedure:
- Switch off the appliance, remove the mains plug, and open the snap locks (9).
- Remove the upper part (8) from the container (10).
- For ASR 50 M SC: On the inside of the suction opening, push the red rotary slide with its "circle" marking upwards. (To twist the slide, push it slightly towards the suction hose, and pull it back after twisting).
- For ASR 25 M SC: Turn the red rotary switch (on the inside of the suction opening) to the stop: the text "OPEN" shows upwards to the marking ⚠️.
- Hold the PE filter bag (5) on the flange and, with its opening, guide it first over the latch at the bottom part of the suction opening, then fit up to the stop on the suction opening.
- Spread out the PE filter bag (5) evenly across the container floor. Arrange the edges of the PE filter bag around the container rim so that the bag is firmly clamped on all sides by the upper part (8), once replaced.
Volume flow monitoring: If an average air flow rate of 20 m/s in the hose system (35 mm diameter) is undershot, the volume flow control display (2) flashes, indicating the fleece filter bag needs changing or the vibrator needs actuating.
The Appliance
7.1 Switching On/Off, Automatic, Vibrator
Select operating mode at switch (1):
- 0 = Vacuum cleaner off
- I = Vacuum cleaner on (manual operation)
- A = Automatic On/Off switch: The vacuum cleaner is switched on or off by means of a power tool connected to the mains socket (3).
- R A = Automatic On/Off switch and Automatic vibrator switch:
- If switch (1) is turned to position R A, the electromagnetic vibrator switches on to shake dust off the filter. The vibrator switches off automatically after approx. 10 s.
- In switch position R A, the vacuum cleaner is switched on or off by means of a power tool connected to the mains socket (3).
- In switch position R A, the electronic system checks the air flow. If the flow is too low due to a contaminated filter, the "Filter control" lamp (2) lights up. During the next work break of the connected power tool, the electronics system switches the vibrator off for approx. 10 s.
Note: If the suction hose diameter is 19 mm or less, and flow conditions are unfavorable, the volume flow control display (2) may flash and an acoustic signal may sound even if the fleece filter bag does not need emptying. In this case, lay out the hose straight and clean it.
Note: If you need to turn the rotary switch to a lower value due to a machine generating dust (e.g., small suction canal diameter), there is no guarantee that dust will be conveyed adequately. The suction hose must be removed from the dust-generating machine after every operating sequence to be vacuumed clear.
7.2 Power socket (3)
The power socket (3) is designed for connection to a power tool only.
The total maximum permissible current consumption (of vacuum cleaner and connected unit) must not exceed the value Imax (see table, page 3).
Caution: Ensure the power tool is switched off when plugging it in. Regardless of the switch position, the plug socket is always live when the mains plug is plugged in.
If switch (1) is in the "0" position, the plug socket can be used as an extension lead.
If switch (1) is in the "RA" position, the vacuum cleaner is switched on or off by a power tool connected to the mains socket (3).
7.3 Volume flow control display
The volume flow control display lights up when the container is full and/or if the suction hose is blocked. For ASR 25 M SC, ASR 50 M SC, an acoustic signal is also issued.
7.4 Rotary switch for setting the suction hose diameter (ASR 25 M SC, ASR 50 M SC only)
Adjust the rotary switch (4) to the hose diameter of the suction hose fitted.
The volume flow is monitored if switch (1) is at the "RA", "A", or "I" position.
If the volume flow falls below a set value, the filter cassettes are automatically vibrated during work breaks in position RA. If the value remains too low, the volume flow control display lights up and, in switch position "RA", an acoustic signal sounds to indicate that the container must be emptied, or the fleece filter bag (6) or PE filter bag (5) must be replaced.
Volume flow rates:
- dia. 35 mm: 70 m³/h
- dia. 27 mm: 41 m³/h
- dia. 19 mm: 20 m³/h
Use
8.1 Dry Vacuuming
Vacuum using a dry filter, dry appliance, and dry accessories only. If the cartridge is damp, dust may stick and form a crust.
Always use filter cassettes when using fleece filter bags (6) or PE filter bags (5) (16).
8.2 Wet vacuuming
Never operate the machine without inserting a filter cassette first (16). The machine may be destroyed, and water may escape.
Vacuum without a paper filter bag. You can use either fleece filter bags (6) or PE filter bags (5). Filter cartridges (16) are suitable for wet vacuuming.
Before carrying out any wet vacuuming, remove the dry vacuumed material to prevent severe soiling and encrustation.
The integrated water sensor switches off the motor when the container is full. Empty the appliance. If the appliance is not switched off, the restart protection device remains effective. The appliance is not operable again until it has been switched off and switched back on again.
After switching off, some water may run back out of the hose.
Before emptying, first take the suction hose out of the liquid.
If you are then going to dry vacuum, insert a dry filter. If there is frequent switching between dry and wet vacuuming, use a second (replacement) filter. Allow the filter, container, and accessories to dry; otherwise, dust may adhere to damp components.
8.3 Special instructions for ASR 25 M SC, ASR 50 SC
Use as industrial vacuum cleaner (IS):
- Turn switch (1) to the "I" position.
- Adjust the rotary switch (4) to the hose diameter of the suction hose fitted.
