Safety Information
Symbols used in this manual are intended to alert users to potential risks. Always read safety signs and instructions.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings:
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres. Keep children and bystanders away.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power tool plug matches the outlet. Never modify the plug. Avoid contact with earthed surfaces. Do not expose to rain or wet conditions. Do not abuse the cord. Use outdoor-suitable extension cords if necessary. Use RCD protected supply in damp locations.
- Personal Safety: Stay alert and use common sense. Do not use the tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, dust masks, and hearing protection. Prevent unintentional starting by ensuring the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the tool on. Do not overreach; maintain proper footing and balance. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing, jewelry, and long hair. Ensure dust extraction and collection facilities are connected and used if provided.
- Power Tool Use and Care: Do not force the tool. Use the correct tool for the application. Do not use tools with faulty switches. Disconnect the plug before making adjustments or changing accessories. Store idle tools out of reach of children. Maintain tools by checking for misalignment, binding, or damaged parts. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Use the tool, accessories, and bits in accordance with instructions and working conditions.
- Service: Have the power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
Diamond Core Drill Safety Warnings:
- Use auxiliary handles supplied with the tool.
- Consider the work area environment: do not use in damp or wet locations, do not expose to rain, keep well-lit, and ensure no flammable liquids or gases are present.
- Grounding of Class I tools is necessary for protection against electric shock. Ensure the socket is fitted with grounding and do not insert Class I tools without grounding.
- Use extension cords suitable for outdoor use and with reliable grounding.
- Take care when working in high positions; use safety belts and caps.
- Check grounding conditions before operating. Do not operate under uncertain conditions.
- Use safety equipment when drilling high ceilings to avoid injury or property damage downstairs.
- Connect the soft pipe with the specified inner diameter to the valve adaptor.
- Ensure there are no water leaks when using liquid attachments.
- Inspect hoses and critical parts for deterioration. Replace rubber seals if leaks occur.
- Replacement of plugs or supply cords should be done by the manufacturer or their service organization.
- Keep liquids away from tool parts and ensure water does not enter electronic equipment. Use a catchment set when working at elevation.
Handling Instructions
- Check the voltage: Ensure the voltage matches the tool's rating (+/-5% tolerance).
- How to install bit: Carefully install the diamond-thin bit, ensuring the end thread matches the output shaft. Smear the thread with grease. Tighten the bit and run it idly to check for proper radial motion before operation.
- Water in the water switch: Ensure there is adequate water in the water switch of the drill.
- Material: When drilling reinforced concrete and encountering steel bars, the current may increase, causing vibration and overloading. Reduce drill thrust accordingly. If the drill gets stuck due to gravel or steel bars, stop the tool, remove the bit, clean the clip notch, wait for the bit to cool, and restart. If the clutch continues to slip, stop and re-tighten.
- Remove drill core: When drilling through materials, reduce speed to avoid forcing. Shut off the tool, remove the bit, clean the wall, and remove the drill core carefully.
- Keep the motor ventilated and cool: Ensure the motor's ventilated notch is not clogged with dirt to prevent overheating.
- Waterless operation is forbidden: Ensure sufficient water flow to cool the drill bit and wash away mud.
- Avoid dampening the motor: Keep the motor enclosure away from water to maintain insulating performance. Operate the machine with the direction of vertical downward.
- Drill vibrated: If vibration occurs due to gaps in the elevating body, square pipe, or rack, shut off the tool, adjust track lining or idle wheel, and tighten bolts.
- Speed adjustment: Stop the machine before turning the speed adjustment knob to avoid gear damage.
Structure, Feature and Usage
The Z1Z-9230 is a portable diamond core drill suitable for bits from 20-230mm. It features a safety friction clutch for ease of use, safety, and reliability. It can drill various materials like reinforced concrete and brick with advantages such as no dust, no vibration, high precision, and fast drilling speed. It is widely used in construction, pipeline installation, road and bridge work, and quality control.
Main Technical Parameter
Model | Rated voltage | Rated frequency | Rated input power | No - load speed | Max. Drilling Dia. |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Z1Z-9230 | 220-230V~ (For EU and AUS) 120V~ (For US) |
50 Hz | 3200 W | 750r/min | Φ203 mm |
Maintenance
- If the drill has any issues, send it to an authorized service center. Do not attempt to dismantle or replace parts yourself.
- Periodically check the electric brush and commutator. Replace brushes if worn to 7mm. Use original parts only. Address serious sparks or wear on the commutator.
- The drill should be checked and repaired periodically. Check electrical wires, grounding, switch, plug, motor insulation, stator/rotor for short circuits, and bolt tightness. Replace lubricating oil and worn parts as needed.
- Replace the rubber sealing washer if water leaks from the bit after prolonged use. Lubricate the gear case with 110# industrial gear oil. Do not use common engine oil.
- Keep the drill clean and dry. Apply grease to the drill bit's spindle and thread connection when storing.
- Adjust the safety clutch if its friction becomes too low.
Solution to Problems During Use
