Safety and Environmental Information

Do not expose batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine or fire. Caution: Danger of explosion if battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

General Safety Warnings:

  • Risk of Electric Shock: Do not open the device. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • This symbol indicates the presence of dangerous voltage inside, sufficient to cause electric shock.

  • To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

Controls

The UR240 features the following controls:

  • 1 TUNE ▲ / 7 TUNE ▼: For tuning radio stations.
  • 2 STANDBY: Turns the unit on or off.
  • 3 DIMMER: Adjusts display brightness (high, middle, low).
  • 4 MODE: Selects between DAB and FM modes.
  • 5 VOL + / 13 VOL -: Adjusts the volume.
  • 6 MENU/INFO: Accesses menus and displays information.
  • 8 ENTER: Confirms selections.
  • 9 PRESET: Accesses preset station list or initiates preset editor.
  • 10 DIRECT PRESET STATION 1-3: Directly recall stored stations.
  • 11 SNOOZE: Temporarily stops alarm or sets sleep timer.
  • 12 AL 1 / 14 AL 2: Accesses alarm settings.
  • 15 DISPLAY: Shows information and settings.
  • 16 HEADPHONE JACK: For connecting headphones.
  • 17 SPEAKER: Built-in speaker.
  • 18 ANTENNA: Wire antenna for reception.
  • 19 DC JACK: For power adapter connection.

Installation

AC Adapter: Use only the supplied AC adapter. Ensure your mains supply matches the adapter's rating plate. Connect the AC adapter cable to the DC power jack and the adapter to a wall outlet.

Basic Operation

Unit On/Off: Press the STANDBY button to turn the unit on or off.

Mode Selection: With the unit on, press the MODE button to switch between DAB and FM modes.

Volume Adjustment: Press the VOL +/- buttons to increase or decrease the volume.

DAB Radio Operation

Antenna: For optimal reception, fully extend the wire antenna.

Station Scan:

  • To select DAB mode, press the MODE button repeatedly.
  • On first use, the unit performs an automatic scan to store all available stations. If “No station” appears, reposition the antenna and restart the scan.
  • To initiate a manual scan or full scan: Press and hold MENU/INFO until the main menu appears. Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to select “Full scan”, then press ENTER. The scan will start, displaying the number of stations found.

Selecting a DAB Station: Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to choose a desired station and press ENTER to confirm.

Storing Preset Stations:

  • You can store up to 20 radio stations.
  • Select the desired radio station.
  • Press and hold the PRESET button until “Preset Editor” is displayed.
  • Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to select the desired preset number and press ENTER to confirm.
  • Alternatively, you can store three stations directly using the direct preset buttons on the top of the unit by pressing and holding the desired button until “Favourite station seted!” is shown.

Recalling Preset Stations:

  • Press the PRESET button. “Preset Viewer” will be displayed.
  • Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to select the desired preset station number and press ENTER to confirm.

DAB Information: While a station is playing, press the MENU/INFO button repeatedly to cycle through broadcast information such as DLS (Dynamic Label Segment), Genre (PTY), signal error, channel/frequency, audio bitrate, and time/date.

FM Radio Operation

Antenna: For optimal reception, fully extend the wire antenna.

Station Scan:

  • To select FM mode, press the MODE button repeatedly.
  • Press and hold the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to start an automatic scan, which stops at the next available station.
  • For manual tuning or fine-tuning in 100kHz steps, use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons.

Storing and Recalling Preset Stations: The procedure is the same as for DAB mode.

FM Information: While a station is playing, press the MENU/INFO button repeatedly to cycle through broadcast information such as Radio Text, program type, and time/date.

Alarm Functions

Setting the Alarm:

  • The unit must be in standby mode. Press AL 1 or AL 2 until the alarm menu is displayed.
  • The hour digits will flash. Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to set the alarm hour and press ENTER to confirm.
  • The minute digits will then flash. Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to set the alarm minutes and press ENTER to confirm.
  • Select the alarm source (DAB, FM, or Buzzer) using the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons and press ENTER to confirm.
  • Set the alarm frequency (Daily, Weekends, Workdays, Once) using the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons and press ENTER to confirm.
  • Adjust the alarm volume (0-16) using the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons and press ENTER.
  • To activate the alarm, select the “ON” function using the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons and press ENTER to confirm.

Turning Off the Alarm: Press the STANDBY, AL 1, or AL 2 button to stop the alarm sound. The alarm will stop until the next set time. If no button is pressed, the alarm will automatically stop after 59 minutes.

Snooze: While the alarm is sounding, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily stop it. The alarm will sound again after 9 minutes.

Deactivating the Alarm Completely:

  • Press AL 1 or AL 2 until the alarm menu is displayed.
  • Press ENTER repeatedly to select the desired alarm (Alarm 1 or Alarm 2).
  • Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to set the function to “OFF” and press ENTER to confirm. The alarm is now deactivated.
  • To reactivate, repeat steps 1-3 and set the function to “ON”.

Sleep and Dimmer Functions

Sleep Function: With the unit on, press the SNOOZE button and use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to select a sleep timer duration (Off, 5, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes).

Dimmer Function: Press the DIMMER button repeatedly to adjust the display brightness (high, middle, low).

System Settings

Press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter the main menu. Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to select functions and press ENTER:

  • Full Scan: Performs an automatic full scan in DAB mode.
  • System Time: Manually set the time and date.
  • Clock Style: Select the clock display format in standby mode (analog or digital).
  • Reset (Factory Reset): This function clears all user-defined settings and restores the device to its original default settings. Note: All stored stations and settings will be deleted upon factory reset.
  • Language: Select the menu language.
  • About: Displays the installed software version.

Headphones

1. Connect your 3.5mm headphone plug to the headphone jack on the back of the unit.

2. Turn the unit on. Music will play through your headphones, and the speaker sound will be muted.

Note: If headphones are connected, the alarm tone will also play through the headphones.
