Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
---|---|
Microphone is plugged in, but not detected. | Unplug and reconnect the cable. The LED panel will turn green when the connection is made. |
You hear no audio even though the desktop application is displaying the correct microphone. | Check the Monitor Mix blend. Adjust the sliders to hear both the microphone input and playback audio. |
Audio is distorted in Auto Level Mode | Use Auto Level Mode for software-controlled gain. Experiment with microphone placement. If distortion persists, use Manual mode to adjust sound. |
Audio is distorted in Manual Mode | Audio distortion often results from overloading the microphone. Lower the mic gain. |
Audio sounds higher or lower pitch than normal. | Ensure your microphone and computer have matching sample rates. Refer to the Shure FAQ for sample rate mismatch information. (Note: Windows update 10 v2004 addresses this.) |
Microphone has become detached from the yoke. | Refer to the MV7+ Yoke Assembly Topic for re-assembly instructions. Correct washer assembly is crucial for a secure fit. |
General troubleshooting | Quit and restart the app. Reboot the computer. Check for firmware updates in MOTIV Mix, MOTIV for iOS, or MOTIV Video. Contact Shure Service and Repair if issues persist. |
Firmware Update
Update firmware via MOTIV Mix, MOTIV for iOS, or MOTIV Video for additional features and enhancements. When an update is available, the 'Firmware Update Available' button will appear in the MV7+ settings panel. Keep the microphone connected until the update is complete; the LED panel pulses amber during the update.
Keep equipment connected during updates
Ensure your MOTIV device remains connected to your computer or mobile device during updates to prevent issues.
