Installation Steps
Follow these steps for proper installation:
STEP 1: Prepare the Handle
Pass the square bar along the wire. Note that the hole position can be adjusted according to the door lock position, with adjustable square sizes of 70mm and 60mm.
STEP 2: Secure the Handle
Choose the screw of the corresponding length according to the thickness of the door and tighten the screws.
STEP 3: Install Batteries
Open the battery cover to install the batteries.
STEP 4: Install the Deadbolt
Install the deadbolt. Pay attention to the direction of the lock tongue when installing (illustrations show 'Open to inside' and 'Open to outside' orientations).
STEP 5: Fix the Door Handle
Install and fix the door handle securely.
STEP 6: Connect Circuit Board
Connect the door lock circuit board port (indicated by a 'Red Mark' in the diagram).
STEP 7: Tighten Screws
Tighten the screws securing the battery cover.
After completing the above steps, the door lock installation is complete. The lock can be installed for both outside and inside door orientations.
APP Registration and Bluetooth Door Lock Setup
I. APP Registration and Login
APP registration: Users without an APP account should choose to register or log in through an SMS verification code. Click 'Create a new account' to enter the registration page, obtain an SMS verification code, and set a password as prompted. If an existing account is available, click 'Log in with an existing account' to log in. Login modes support password, verification code, and social account login.
II. Add Bluetooth Door Lock
The 'Tuya Smart APP' is an intelligent device management application provided by Tuya for end consumers. Through the Tuya Smart APP, users can conveniently configure and control smart products in their home, configure favorite scenes and automation schemes, share smart devices with family and friends, and enjoy smart home functionality.
To acquire the APP, search for 'Tuya Smart' in application markets or 'Apple Mall' or scan the provided QR code to download. This document uses the Smart Life APP as an example to explain the functions of the APP and door lock panel in detail.
- Click the 'add device' icon on the homepage of the APP.
- Click the 'Security monitoring' category on the left and find and click 'Smart Door Lock'.
- Start Bluetooth network distribution and click 'Next'.
- Wake up the door lock keyboard, or touch the fingerprint sensor to wake up. Wait for the mobile phone to scan the device, and press the '+' icon to add the device.
- Wait for the device to be added. The door lock emits 'Drip' twice, indicating that the device is successfully added.
III. Bluetooth Door Lock Panel - Homepage
The lower side of the homepage displays the names of the door lock and its current power condition. The upper side shows 'Member Management', 'Unlocking Record', 'Smart Linkage', and 'Settings'. The Bluetooth connection status is displayed in the homepage center. If connected, users can click 'Long press to unlock' to directly unlock the door lock. Ensure the mobile phone's Bluetooth is on and within a reasonable distance (recommended within 5 meters) of the door lock. If Bluetooth is not connected, 'Bluetooth cannot be connected' is displayed, and the door lock cannot be opened directly via APP. The homepage slides left to the next page for dynamic password function. After clicking 'Get Dynamic Password', an 8-digit password appears randomly, usable to unlock the door within 5 minutes.
User Management
IV. Member Management - Family Member Management
- Validity Period: Once added, the permission for family members is permanent until the administrator deletes the member. Members always have corresponding permissions.
- Door Opening Method: The administrator can decide the permission type for the member. If all door opening permissions are closed, the user can no longer use their own door opening mode through APP and can only use existing door opening modes.
- Create/Delete Door Opening Mode: By connecting the door lock with APP Bluetooth, the administrator can create/delete door opening modes for other family members.
V. Member Management - Other Member Management
1. Validity period: The administrator can decide the length of validity period of other members. It can be set as permanent, or for a specified start/end time.
2. Door opening mode: The administrator can decide the permission type of the door opening mode possessed by the member. If the administrator closes all door opening permissions of the member, the user can no longer maintain their own door opening mode through APP, and can only use the existing door opening mode.
3. After creating another member, the administrator can associate the member with a certain user of APP by 'sharing'. When the specified end time arrives, the user's APP will automatically lose the device.
VI. Fingerprint Management
- Before selecting 'fingerprint management' for collection, select the user corresponding to the fingerprint to be added.
- Click 'Start Collection' to enter the fingerprint collection interface. For each fingerprint collection, multiple fingerprints need to be entered (the manufacturer can customize the collection times).
- Connect the door lock through APP Bluetooth, and the administrator can collect fingerprints for themselves or other family members.
Warm Tips for Fingerprint Recording:
Record all 5 fingerprint angles as shown in the picture to increase recognition flexibility by more than 99.9%.
Notes:
- Use the belly of fingers to record, not the fingertip.
- The same fingerprint needs to be scanned from multiple angles.
- The same user can scan multiple fingerprints.
- Keep your fingers clean and not too dry or wet.
VII. Password Management
- Select 'password management' as the entry on the home page.
- Before adding a password, select the user corresponding to the password to be added.
- Click 'Add Password' to enter the password entry interface, which supports random generation and user-defined passwords.
- Connect the door lock through APP Bluetooth, and the administrator can enter the password for themselves or other family members.
VIII. Temporary Password Management
- From the home page setup entry, select 'temporary password management'.
- Choose 'one-time password' or 'periodic password' according to user's requirements.
- Select 'Online Password' when the Bluetooth signal is good, and select 'Offline Password' when the Bluetooth signal is disconnected or poor.
IX. Door Opening Record
The log can be queried in the 'Door Opening Record' entry of the homepage, with records arranged in reverse order. The unlocking ID associated with a user name will directly display that user name. Unlocking IDs not associated with a name from the APP will display the specific unlocking ID. When the door lock is connected with mobile phone Bluetooth, door opening records are displayed on APP in real time. Otherwise, records are cached locally in the door lock and retransmitted after the door lock is connected with mobile phone and opened next time.
X. Restore the Factory Settings
Click the icon in the upper right corner of the main page, enter the interface, find 'Remove device', and select 'Unbind and clear data'.
- When the mobile phone APP is connected to the door lock by Bluetooth, the factory reset operation is used. All local door opening methods of the door lock will be deleted, and the door lock will be restored to its original factory default state. Other users can re-add the door lock through APP.
- When the mobile phone is not connected to the door lock by Bluetooth, restore the factory settings of the door lock on the door lock. The way of opening the door on the door lock remains unaffected. Other users can re-pair with the door lock through APP. The original unlocking method of the rare door lock will be invalid.
- Press the setting button in the small hole of the rear handle for 5 seconds, and the door lock will make a long 'drip' sound, which will force the factory settings to be restored. All door opening methods on the door lock will be deleted, and the door lock will be restored to its original factory default state. Other users can add the door lock again through APP.
XI. Normally Open Setting/Cancel Normally Open
After Indoor Handle:
- Normally Open Setting: Press the normally open button for 1 second on the rear handle, and the door lock will make a 'drip' sound to open the normally open mode.
- Cancel Normally Open Mode: Press the normally open button for 1 second on the rear handle, and the door lock will make a 'drip' sound to close the normally open mode.
- Normally open mode can be automatically canceled after verifying that the administrator or user is correct.
- Press the '#' key on the front handle to cancel the normally open mode.
VIII. IC Card Management
- Before selecting 'Card management' for collection, select the user corresponding to the card to be added.
- Click 'Start Collection' to enter the card collection interface. Place the card on the card icon above the lock. When a 'DI' sound is heard, the addition is successful.
- Connect the door lock through APP Bluetooth.
Other Settings
1. Two Ways to Reset and Delete All Users
Method 1:
- STEP 1: Long press the small hole on the inside handle with a small screwdriver for 9 seconds.
- STEP 2: When the indicator blinks red light, stop the operation. The reset is successful.
Method 2:
- STEP 1: Enter '888' + '#' and the indicator will blink red light.
- STEP 2: Press the registered administrator fingerprint. The reset is successful.
2. Two Ways to Turn ON Normally-Open Mode
Method 1:
- STEP 1: Long press the button on the inside handle.
- STEP 2: When the indicator light changes from blue to purple, release the button. After releasing the button, the purple light changes to green light, indicating that the Normally-Open Mode has been activated.
Method 2:
- STEP 1: Touch to wake up the password area, then enter '28' + '#'. The indicator will blink purple light.
- STEP 2: Press the registered administrator fingerprint.
3. Four Ways to Turn OFF Normally-Open Mode
- Repeat the above 2 methods to turn off the normally open mode.
- Press '#' to lock and turn off the normally open mode.
- Enter an enrolled fingerprint or password to lock up.
4. Add IC Card
Method 1:
- STEP 1: After pressing the '1' + '#' keys, the indicator light will flash blue.
- STEP 2: When the indicator light flashes blue, verify the administrator's fingerprint.
- STEP 3: After successful verification of the administrator's fingerprint, read the IC card. When the IC card is successfully read, the green indicator light will illuminate.
5. Emergency Unlock
Method 1:
- STEP 1: Plug the USB power cord into the connector.
- STEP 2: Press the registered administrator fingerprint.
- STEP 3: Unlocking is successful.
Useful Tips
- Keep at least one key outside the door for emergency.
- When the battery is low, the indicator will blink red light. The remaining power can only be used for about 50 times.
- When the battery is out of power, the door can be unlocked with a key, or by supplying power through the micro-USB port and using a fingerprint or password.
- Use alkaline batteries to prevent damage from battery leakage. Batteries must be replaced every 2 years.

- A: Long click the setting button for 5 seconds. The blue light will shine and a 'bee' sound will be heard. After 5 seconds, the red light will shine and a voice will announce 'initial success', indicating success.
- Q: What is the initial password if the fingerprint lock is restored to the factory setting?
- A: The initial password is '123456#'.
- Q: How to open the lock if it runs out of battery?
- A: Use a power bank to connect to the USB port to charge, then use the key to open the door.
